"Flying cars are real!" ๐Ÿš€ Elon Musk and Tesla showcase the new Roadster.

Your daily reminder that Elon has starved millions of children to death and is too big a loser to party of the child molestation island with all the child molesters

There was a different demo that didn't involve a ramp. The car jumped up and over a bunch of stuff. It's not hard to find if you're not just trolling.

PT Barnum said โ€œa new sucker is born every minuteโ€ and yeah, I see what he meant. This is laughably unconvincing. They are eroding your critical thinking skills so that you donโ€™t ask questions when they present you with the IRL version of AI slop

Because it might help boost the stocks of spacex which is sinking because it's trying to absorb the costs of Tesla and grok so insider trading can be done

This even was held in McGregor (right outside of Waco) and now I understand why. It's where they test SpaceX rockets. They must have done the engineering for the thrusters for this cool-looking but obviously fake stunt.

Completely fake stunt aside, I canโ€™t imagine what the world would be like when all of the suicidal, homicidal, and sociopathic drivers get to fly their cars instead of Mad-Maxing their way through society in their monster trucks, Dodge Challengers and Teslas.

Apparently it was a "practical" demonstration - meaning a hollow plastic shell equipped with suction fans to adhere to the surface, and compressed-air jets to flip it over and control its crash. Still not a car, much less a flying car.

No, it was on a stage. It *looks* like slop because it wasn't driving as such. It was faked, but it was faked the old-fashioned way.

#TeslaTrick More distractionsโ€ฆ.. I hope no one gets hurt! It doesnโ€™t look like a good idea! More distractionโ€ฆ.. Who cares!!!??? Having a real car that doesnโ€™t hurt people, even if it doesnโ€™t fly is a better idea! #BoycottTesla

Why would that be necessary for a flying car? The general idea of a flying car, as I understand it, is to leave the ground, not to stick to the ground.

Who cares. They did some stunts under highly controlled conditions that the real car will never be able to do. It's a Las Vegas show put on for the fragile ego of the world's most boring man-child.

Yeah, itโ€™s just a falling car. It twists midair to land upright but thatโ€™s like saying my cat is a flying cat because he lands on his feet after falling off the table while he was asleep.

Exactly. Also... that car didn't so much "fly" as it "didn't hurtle towards the earth." Is wealth inversely proportional to IQ?

It was a full size demo with many live witnesses. They use fans to suck the air out to make it stick to the road. Cold compressed gas thrusters made it flip and land. Completely impractical, but not fake.

There's that moment the "car" leaves the end of the platform, suspended, and then mysteriously without any power at all just perfectly flips over and rights itself before the "thrusters" start. A totally fraudulent gimmick.

I suppose Speed Racer could use the thrusters to pass the Car Acrobatic Team when they block the racetrack ahead of him.

I absolutely called this. (and when it's not a carefully preplanned event ... good luck trying that at home)

Canonically "falling with style" is accepted as "flying" (1) so there's a chance. (1) Whedon, Stanton, Cohen, and Sokolow,"Toy Story". Pixar Animation Studios, 1995.

All I see is worlds richest man, responsible for taking away everything from people who had the least. His doge cuts will be killing hundreds of thousands of people who had nothing, not even a chance without USAid

Why the F is anyone sharing this article? Yahoo Finance doesnโ€™t know if youโ€™re being critical. It just shows them that even on Bluesky, people want to read about FElon.

That is not a flying car. The thrusters slowed its fall for a controlled landing. The momentem from the eletric engines got it airborne. That car cannot fly. I hope this helps.

"Robots are real!" "Mars colonization is real!" "Hyperloop is real!" "DOGE is real!" "The singularity is real!" "My father's love is real!" "My stock valuation is real!" Please, I beg you, let the charade fucking END, nobody buys it anymore.

Aren't car windows supposed to be easy to break in case you fall in a lake and need to escape? That's not "wow, that car window is really fragile", it's "wow, that car window is really dangerous to the driver."

Did Ai write this piece? THIS is what they're calling "flying"? At best, this an example of using directional thrusters and fans from a space program to prove that you can make the stupidest shite to impress stockholders. At worst, this is bull๐Ÿ’ฉ

I saw one of those first-run or prototype or whatever Teslas, the kind like they're leaning up against there, at a car show in Florida once. I was real impressed then! Back then I'd never heard the name Elon Musk, or even the name Elon, and Trump being president was a joke from the Simpsons.

AI video for boys who miss their skateboards? Was thinking about the pointless smoke effects, couldn't see from inside and who would have friends to film them... then realized how much this is a hot wheels spoof and perhaps a hot toy release ad for Christmas shopping.

You know what? I stand corrected. There is, indeed, at least one dipshit here. "Possibly a life saver." JFC. ๐Ÿ™„

The vectored thrust system relies on compressed air and requires recharging after a few seconds. Recharging using onboard compressors can be lengthy up to 4 hours for another 2 second burst. Still very innovative and at high speeds possibly a lifesaver. driveteslacanada.ca/news/tesla-r...

another clip of it "flying" over a bunch of other Tesla vehicles

Look I canโ€™t lie, itโ€™s super cool it can do this. But itโ€™s completely useless, there is basically zero useful application for it. Unless you need to jump over a ravine on your way to work

Y'all remember when they said you the Cyber truck can float and then a bunch of idiots drove their trucks into lakes? Also, how's that Starship coming along?

you're looking at the fan grating that it uses to create downforce, that skirt thing on the left

so they took rocket thrusters/stabilizers from this guys rocket company (subsidized by our tax dollars), stuck them on a volatile, unreliable electric car, and dropped it from a ramp like a hot wheels toy? people cant afford groceries

Iโ€™m not seeing any flying. I AM seeing no crashing, which is saying something considering itโ€™s a Tesla.

Does anyone realize this car would have fallen way before the end of the road!๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ Fake ass shit!

If this is real then why does the car stay stuck to the track even when upside down? If it was held onto the ramp then this is so artificial that it could never happen in real life. It's either AI or more showy BS from Musk about something that no one wants which is good since it doesn't work.

You know those toys you could get that used a fan to hold themselves to a surface? That's essentially what this was. Powerful fan suction on what was essentially a massive hollow shell RC car.
