Oh my god I just watched the RENT 30th anniversary concert livestream and it was incredible. Seeing the original cast and all of the different cast members from over the years. I sat there with my T gel on just overwhelmed by such powerful feelings. You can still watch it for 24 hours I think

I'll have to put that on the list after I've finished Ghost Concert which is about what happens when a society is banned from singing and all music is made by AI and also there are ghosts.

Hey you should watch Psycho-Pass because it's about what happens when a society is run by AI and everyone is judged by their mental health score

I weep for humanity. No matter how overwhelmed and busy I am, I always have time to write one sentence about what makes my child special. FFS.

Some additional context from someone who gets regular emails from the NDP, one of their major talking points right now is about the federal government inviting big American companies to invest in or buy out Canadian companies and public institutions, so this is timely and on message for them

This whole reply chain omg. But mainly that I won't "just get over it" it will get worse until all of my problems are compounded and I collapse. Also more cool shirts in natural fibers please.

This shit just writes itself at this point. Just the name "Epic AI MegaJam" is a joke that best describes what is going on with these companies.

This also happens in Australia, and I usually call it the "snapback" effect. Here, compulsory voting results in a lot of electoral inertia - once we've voted in someone, we tend to keep doing so. It's extremely rare for a party to be kicked out the election after they got voted in.

Katelyn Burns@katelynburns.com

Reality is, you can't set up permanent one party rule in wide swathes of the country. When you're in power, you piss people off and eventually there are enough pissed off people to run you out of an elected job. There are 40 year olds that have only been represented by the GOP in these states.

There is something so soul crushing about creating art that pushes the needle in the games industry, only to be thanked by using the capital gained from said art to push the ones who created it out of a job.

Go to your web host and update your php to 8.5 or higher. Most providers will allow you to do it yourself (I'm on bluehost). It takes just a few minutes. Do a backup first and then update then test your site. if you can't find where to do it contact support.

If you currently use PHP or have a WordPress site, you are highly vulnerable to Rogue AI swarms and threat actors using AI hacking. We are currently experiencing the deepest level of cyber intrusions since spring 2023 and it makes the July 🤗 incident look like a nice day in the park.

My uni says that they have air purification in the HVAC and that we are to keep our doors and windows closed for maximum efficacy. I can never feel any air movement coming from them and my repeated requests for a purifier have been denied, despite my health risks. So I bring a personal one now.

One of the things that continually floors me is how many schools—across the country—refuse FREELY OFFERED air filters even when the science is clear that they help cut down on all airborne infections. Some schools even ban them, despite students and parents begging to be allowed to use/provide them.

Bad indoor air can hurt people in a variety of ways but administrators don’t want to be responsible for another domain to think about. Free air filters are a threat to them. My local school district sold all their filters for a few dollars per. Guess the kids don’t need clean air anymore!
