Lots of meaty papers from Tim Smithson's festschrift. In addition, we contributed a little paper on a lungfish otoccipital from the early Mississippian of Nova Scotia. Nothing fancy but it shows affinities with groups previously known only from the Devonian. www.cambridge.org/core/journal...

New paper day! From Conrad Wilson's MSc comes the description of the back of two ray finned fish skulls. These show that in the earliest Carboniferous aged rocks at Blue Beach, Nova Scotia, there was a mix of ancient forms and more advanced fish known from younger rocks. #vertpaleo #paleontology

Earlier this year, @arvalis.bsky.social commissioned me to build a muscle model of a Komodo Dragon. Lizard anatomy is well studied, but many resources are hidden in literature often unknown/inaccessible to artists. The mission was to make an idealised, artist-friendly reference for lizard muscles.

Hey Squarespace users! Did you know Squarespace opted you into being crawled by AI bots without telling you? I didn't... #AI #scrapers #bots

It seems silly to feel such a sense of accomplishment over this but I have managed to overcome our accounting software and submit an expense report despite only having outdated instructions! Lunch is well deserved.

You are up to date.
