I'm a fan of Bluesky. and I now despise Twitter. But Bluesky has severe shortcomings. The feed algorithm is actually not very good - it's not selective and seems to lack any real intelligence. A large percentage of what I see is terribly repetitive. So I stop scrolling.

Bluesky has a growth problem Bluesky has hit 38M monthly users, up 8M since March Once adding 5M users per month, it’s now slowed to 1.6M. A 60% drop But post volume is falling—more users, less activity It risks becoming a ghost town with a loyal but shrinking core #bluesky #fediverse

Sure, shitting on both parties is easy. You may feel superior saying both parties suck. But you're wrong. Only one party - the Republican Party- is a threat to our founding principles. I don't have time right now to dream about a third party. I've got to help defeat that threat.

Hard words to hear. Even for the most optimistic it should be clear that the path we are on is not sustainable.

“I’ve never said this before to the media, but it’s too late.” David Suzuki 💔 For me, what we’ve got to do now is hunker down. The units of survival are going to be local communities. We need revolution. Can you have a peaceful revolution? I don’t know. www.ipolitics.ca/2025/07/02/i...

Now imagine a site that is controlled by an unaccountable billionaire who controls the most followed account, regularly post conspiracies and misinformation and has reduced content moderation to a voting system gamed by his own followers. That site is X.

Two days after Musk closed his purchase of Twitter, he amplified conspiracy theories about the attack on Paul Pelosi. It showed how his mind is so inclined toward political conspiracy, even when confronted about it, as we wrote in CHARACTER LIMIT. www.rollingstone.com/culture/cult...

“Tesla’s driverless ‘robotaxis’ could launch in Austin as soon as June 22. But a demo in Austin today showed a $TSLA, manually driven to test its Full Self-Driving system, failed to stop for a child-sized dummy at a school bus—and hit it.” @cbsaustin @velez_tx

Why another protest? What is it going to accomplish? Shouldn’t we be [insert alternate tactic] instead? These are good-faith questions, and they stem from very reasonable concerns. So let’s take a step back and talk about the role of a peaceful mass mobilization like No Kings.

The markets have fallen lately, and that means your stocks are probably worth less than they were a year ago. Your knee-jerk reaction might be to sell. Here's why that's not a good idea.
