I still like yellow numbers. I now like blue skies.

That's a joke. That is not a yellow. They gave a yellow there because RSL got mad about a borderline non-call two minutes before. And that results in a red. This is the reigning 2-time MLS official of the year? That's embarrassing.

Considering the quality of opponent and PP results, this is easily the Blues best game of the year so far. Maybe they’re finding something…

I feel like this race in the St. Louis suburbs isn’t getting a lot of attention — maybe because the House is expected to flip regardless — but this seat is very much in play.

Kinda bugs me that we only VAR goal scoring plays and not ones that lead to dangerous set pieces. I don't know if Ferran Torres was offside. I absolutely cannot draw any conclusion from this. But there's a reasonable chance the toe is off if they did the full automated VAR check.

Multiple things are true at once. Billionaires are evidence of system failure. Sometimes the best/only way to get money to do something that needs to be done in the current system is to get money from individuals with a lot of money. Whose money and under what conditions matters *a lot.*

I think Jim Montgomery might be the best coach in the NHL. And I'd probably be very seriously considering firing him right now. I also think the Blues should consider revisiting a Thomas trade. I don't care how silly it'd make them look after giving him the C. It's about time for something big.

When the Blues released veteran backup Chad Johnson 2 months into the 2018-19 season, he had played 10 games with 7 starts with a .884 SV% and a 3.55 GAA. Jordan Binnington over his last 43+ games between last year and this year has a .871 SV% and 3.41 GAA. In 2+ GP this yr, he's at .838 and 4.72.

I assume Jordan Binnington has negative trade value, but surely someone would claim off waivers and you could move on from this.

That’s the subhead. The story is a club that’s professed how important it is to not get complacent treated their lineup like they were playing a friendly even though massive points were on the line in a playoff seeding race. Extremely frustrating.

That's final; St. Louis CITY SC have lost for the first time since May 3rd. #Allforcity 2 MNUFC 3 It's rough after leading 2-0 but they couldn't control the midfield after they took the early lead and that's the story.

They never did. And not only have they dropped points, they’re threatening to blow their streak. In a game they should have put a bow on.

I would appreciate CITY putting their foot back on the gas.

People are really writing stories about the Dodgers dynasty being over? Jeezus. They’ll let people put anything in the paper. They lost one playoff series finally. They’re still stacked, they’re still loaded with cash, and they still have a top farm system. They’re not done.

The outcome of the labor situation will play into this, but I’m very unconvinced it won’t actually play out favorably for them.

The Dodgers have won 3 out of the last 6 World Series including, of course, the last two. I'm glad they're hopefully not going to win this year's because that's so boring. But feels weird to be overly gleeful in their demise. Generally speaking, I don't think they'll take it very hard.

Like I have zero reason to believe they won't be a or even the World Series favorite the very next time there is a baseball season. And you can't with any seriousness call them chokers or whatever. Nobody wins 'em all. But they sure win a lot.

CITY didn’t do a lot right with the ball tonight, and when a couple of them did, someone else didn’t. But it was gutsy. It was record-setting. And it keeps you in position for the top seed in the West. Plus it clinches the playoffs.

This really bugs me, and I really wish they’d correct it.

i get it, he’s done a lot of good with his money for sport, but it BLOWS MY MIND to put a billionaire’s name on that trophy

I find the state of starting pitching in MLB to be sad. That isn’t to say the talent isn’t elite. Or that the strategic decisions aren’t correct. I just find it sad. A guy as well thought of as Miz gives up only 1 run but only goes 4.1. I just find that to be a disappointing baseball product.

I’m not a political expert or in charge of any adult’s behavior, but it just seems to me that if you dont want to be called a Nazi, then don’t act like one.

"Jon Ossoff, my advice to him is, if you start calling your political opponents Nazis, maybe it's time to shut up. That's just not what we do here in this country." -- David Brooks, this evening. Remember, Brooks still gets very handsomely rewarded by the fossilized media for saying shit like this

What is the opposite of when you steal signs and know what pitch is coming? Because that's the White Sox right now. I don't know that I've ever seen a team look so hapless at the plate. Even in no hitters.

Also, Robert Thomas does not appear to be captain material. And he remains one of the “worst” #1 centers in the league. He’s a #1 center only because it’s a league of 32 teams.

Bret Bielema won 19 games the last two years with the Illini, and now they’re the worst team in the Big Ten. That’s a stunning level of bad.

Refs didn’t stop play until he had it. Then they decided to mark it short. Embarrassing officiating.

Short field for Michigan State after Illinois does not convert the first down in their own territory

Officials have decided to cheat for Michigan State after they blew the offside call. Clayton clearly got that first down on the fourth effort. Refs never stopped the play and the Illini finally pushed the pile. Absolute garbage ruling.

Can’t wait to find out about his fine for this. What a tool. Ridiculously this came at the same stoppage that the Illini sideline got an unsportsmanlike penalty.
