15 years ago tonight, one of the best World Series games of all time ended in a 10-9 win for the St. Louis Cardinals. It was a team effort but we all still happily remember the heroics of David Freese, the local kid who brought his city a championship. #STLCards

a new Northwestern study found that "smart" TV makers often still spy on you even when you opt out. Vizio was particularly bad; completely ignoring opt out requests despite being fined $2.2 by the FTC in 2017 and a $17 million class action: watchingthewatchers.github.io/watchingthew...

ICYMI, I wrote about how the Rays and Brewers coach up replacement-level big leaguers into All-Stars. It's an almost jarringly wholesome and earnest process

Freshly cut grass, hot dogs, cold beer, the crack of a bat and the sound of an organ playing: Few places are as distinct as a baseball stadium. But live organists are disappearing. Only 10 of the 30 MLB teams tell NBC News they have someone performing at every game.

The Beer and Tacos World Series. Two orgs that employ a ton of scouts AND analysts.

Is middle age the reason I forget Steven Matz is on the Rays only to be reminded once or twice a week?

Wrote about the Rays defense, who have .. the lowest BABIP allowed on hard-hit balls .. of any full-season team in Statcast history? Against a generally hard-to-defend Brewers offense, this is a huge battle for wins. --> www.mlb.com/news/rays-de...

Thankful that tech advancements have only enriched breathless AFL reports.

For the first time ever this season I didn't listen to a #STLCards radio broadcast in its entirety and I only listened to a handful of fragments before the insufferable Rooney & Horton drove me away. They're so horrendously bad they're poison to baseball on the radio.

Peete is on a heater! Our model has always been higher than the consensus on the young slugger, who possesses a rare contact-and-power combo but struggles with swing-and-miss. If he can blossom into a plus OF, he has a strong shot to be an impact player, even with the Ks.

Wrote about the first ABS World Series, where the question is less "my gosh, what if a WS game ends on a challenge" and more "uh, so, what if a batter lets a WS game ends without a challenge?" --> www.mlb.com/news/who-wil...

Tai Peete tripled AGAIN to lead off today's game for Peoria. 111.2 mph EV to right-center. That's the Cardinals prospect's third 109+ extra-base hit in the last two days.

Tai Peete had the most electric performance I’ve seen in the Fall League last night. An offseason adjustment with his hands has unlocked better directionality and more opportunities for him to show off his power and speed when healthy in 2026.
