A recent securities filing spotlighted what triggered Mark Zuckerberg’s months-long power battle with board directors at Meta — a fight that sparked not-so-veiled threats from Zuckerberg and led board members to contemplate quitting.

I found this to be one of the more unique scenes I captured on my last Iceland trip - a narrow waterfall emerging from an impossibly blue pool, surrounded by dark volcanic rock and bright green moss. #timothykeeneyphotography #photography #landscapephotography

Its forever been the wildest thing being at games conferences -especially the largest ones- and the talk schedule is like - creating sincere art from playful naivete - balancing passion and health - how to dodge parental controls when monetizing toddlers - regrets from my 1st commercial codebase

making games so you can hopefully afford to make more games is literally a different industry from grinding up people so number goes up and it is harmful to pretend otherwise regardless of whether or not we share a platform or a binary format

One of my friends was in DC for some company event last week. On the way back he sees a guy wearing a Flyers hat and a very nice ring. He though it might be from the 2010 Eastern Conference champion team. He asked the guy, "you work for the Flyers?" The guy chuckled, "I put on skates for a while..."

Man, I remember buying credit packs for a local multi-line BBS in 1995, then after the internet destroyed local boards, getting 30 hours/mo. of metered access for $30 back in 97. I had to email an automated address to find out how much time I had remaining. We're doing this again, huh

while every generation thinks they're better than the previous one, parenting has advanced in leaps and bounds by numerous objective metrics for example, it is far less common today for parents to hit their kids than it was when I was a kid. this is unequivocally a good development

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

A forum I'm on just updated its software, and now it looks great and slick, but right now, given everything, I kinda want that painfully ugly phpbb aesthetic.

(to woman on the street) You should smile more! The RCE vulnerability 'sad2shell' was just leaked via HackerNews and NIST has given it a CVSS rating of 10.0

It's a great future where no gaming executive wants to employ any human developers, where the few remaining major publishers just want to charge for slop from an AI prompt, and where that very same AI bubble makes every new console cost $2000. This is a business with a bright horizon ahead

The age of not understanding the details of coding and packaging and distribution vs the age of automating attacks against software that's packaged and distributed

The best era of the internet really was up until the late nineties, when it was for nerds and you just made your shitty little geocities site and visited your friends' shitty little geocities sites.

In the Japanese PC-88 port of Ultima 3: Exodus by Pony Canyon, if you try to Talk/Transact (T key) to an enemy monster, they literally say "FUCK YOU!!" in English. Hilarious, and apparently nobody has discovered or posted about this before online in English or Japanese

75.9% Remain, per Global News. This isn't a "setback", it's a crushing defeat. And it's interesting which group's grievances are ignored, and whose are considered worthy of an election costing hundreds of millions of dollars.
