The Israeli military killed at least 18 Palestinian children in Gaza during October alone, an average of at least one child every 36 hours according to @euromedhr.bsky.social. As of Saturday, Israeli military attacks had killed 35 Palestinians and wounded more than 167 in Gaza over the past week.

As Palestinians continue to endure the constant threat of famine and are deprived of food, warmth, shelter, healthcare, and basic hygiene, we will not stop exposing the devastating conditions imposed on them by the Israeli government.

Palestinian families in the West Bank rely on the olive harvest for their income. Israeli settlers know that—so they burn down olive groves and attack Palestinians, with the goal of making life in the West Bank unlivable for them. Settlers have damaged more than 2,500 olive trees this year alone.

Israeli settlers are blocking, assaulting, and robbing Palestinian olive harvesters. For some 100,000 families in the West Bank who rely on the harvest for income, this season may decide whether the olive harvest survives at all.

We enter Shabbat this week in contemplation on how to be in continued solidarity with all people. As we watched the Trump regime’s outrageous attacks on Ilhan Omar, we recognized that kind of abuse of government power and targeting of political opponents is exactly how fascists operate.

As anti-Zionist Jews, we oppose both the US and Israeli government’s campaigns of destroying Indigenous land and life. A free Palestine is a world where each life is precious — a place where every human and every plant can thrive without fear of being killed, uprooted, or destroyed.

We know these struggles are connected. We stand in solidarity with land defenders, Palestinians, and Indigenous people across the world resisting the ongoing destruction and exploitation of their homelands.

Last week in Lochiel, Arizona and on Tohono O’odham land, US Federal Agents violently raided an encampment of land defenders who were protecting a sacred cottonwood — or grandfather tree — that was blocking construction of Trump’s expanded US-Mexico border wall.

During the raid, agents attacked land defenders, and uprooted the 200-year-old tree. Earlier this week, Federal Agents illegally entered the land of the Tohono O’odham Nation to start survey work on more construction sites for the border wall.

Thousands of Palestinian families rely on the olive harvest for their income and olives are core to Palestinian identity. This is why Israeli settlers and soldiers try to prevent it.

Since this year’s olive harvest began, Jewish supremacist settlers have mobilized in coordination to destroy olive trees, steal olives, and attack, detain, and kill Palestinians who harvest olives on their homelands.
