It’s not surprising that Smith read the room wrong on this again. That’s what happens when you listen more to Trump supporters than Albertans. And when you’re always acting in your own interests, not Alberta’s or Canada’s.

Well, calling out Rosie isn't going to sweeten her disposition, but Carney's comments are totally fair. I've said for some time that Barton has set herself up as the unofficial opposition, well beyond the legitimate role of tough journalism. #cdnpoli

Have to say we love CBC. And we’ve all had more than enough of Rosie Barton. Stephen is correct.

Rosemary Barton: “It’s very difficult to believe.” Well, then that’s a “you” issue and that’s some pretty personal and heavy torque. Carney has followed the rules to a T with the ethics commissioner. Did she ever put it that way when asking Poilievre about no security clearance?

Journalists have a duty to us, the people, to present fair and balanced reporting. They should not be rude or disrespectful. They should not have an agenda. They should accept the answer, and not call out our leaders for the fun of it. This leads to misinformation. And sound bytes to be abused.

Honestly, what is the point of having CBC when you have someone like Rosemary Barton shouting out at the Prime Minister saying his words are "very difficult to believe" without any actual basis for that conclusion. That's not journalism. That's just bullshit. Fire her. #CDNpoli #ElbowsUp #CBCNews

There needs to be a petition to remove Rosemary Barton from the CBC.She is not only rude& biased,it is over the top to openly challenge Mark Carney’s integrity in a way that Pierre Poilievre/ Harper’s were never challenged.

That was dreadful journalism, biased and mean. Barton should have her position as senior political correspondent reviewed. Carney’s response was masterful.

Rosie just can't help herself. Her distain for all things liberal has been palpable for too long. As a journalist, it's unprofessional and unacceptable. If the same distain were equally directed toward the CPC, I'd let her have it, but it's not, and that's why it's a problem.

Barton asking Carney these questions is wildly frustrating. Carney spent many successful years in finance - being wealthy isn’t suspicious; it’s expected. Meanwhile, Poilievre is a career politician worth many millions, I don't see her grilling him with questions. Why the double standard, Rosemary?
