I'll be in Cambridge, UK, Oct 25--31, with some time in London/Heathrow on either end. Working during weekdays, but would love to catch up with folks over coffee or food in the evenings or over the weekend. If you're around, reach out!

Photo credit: me :) It was both fun and intimidating moderating a panel for the first time. Thanks to the gracious panelists.

In Boulder/Denver area next week for team's hack week! If you're around and want to grab coffee/food, hit me up; would love to see some local friends.

Hack Week outcome: Built private coding agents on a 36 GB M4 Max Macbook Pro, 128 GB M4 Max Mac Studio and a 128 GB DGX Spark. Added multi-user serving, Pi/Copilot-compatible APIs, sandboxing and read-only Confluence via MCP. Bigger models weren't always better -- Qwen3.6 35B for the win.

Inspired by this post from a while ago, I *finally* got around to writing up a bunch of things I find myself frequently telling people. In particular, [the current] section 5 on classroom tips directly answers this question. parentheticallyspeaking.org/articles/ped...

Looking for recommendations for bsky native iPadOS app. The official one is just the iOS one inflated and is unsatisfying. Asking for a friend. I am that friend.

I couldn’t find a CLI tool for bulk-updating GitHub Actions, so I built one: `actupdate`. It scans workflow YAML, checks real GitHub tags, prefers moving major tags like `@v6`, falls back to exact stable tags if needed, and shows a plan before touching files. github.com/qartik/actup...

We're running a user study, maybe you can help! We're studying the effect of new ways to show code diffs to programmers, and looking for participants for a 1-1.5hr virtual user study. In the study you will be shown several diffs and asked questions about them.
