St. Sabina Catholic Church in Chicago has placed more than 100 crosses outside the parish. Each bears the name of someone who died in ICE custody or during an immigration enforcement action. Union workers built the traveling memorial, which began at Holy Name Cathedral last month.

I love Amy Winehouse's music and would love to see her live but like, the world couldn't ler her be when she was alive. I'd feel like the worst tabloid photographer raising her from the dead for a show just because I think it would be cool. Anyway I'm over here killing all the joy. Ugh.

I think I am gonna have another glass of red wine. It feels like today was Monday November 39th around here.

We expect voters to send pics of their ballots to LLMs to get advice - so we built a feature in CampSight that shows 2500 real responses from ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok on around 150 sample ballots. Take a look! getcampsight.ai/ballotsight

getcampsight.aiBallotSight — what AI chatbots say about the candidates on your ballot | CampSightWe showed ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok the same sample ballots. See who they talk about, who they ignore, and where they disagree.

Well I guess it's lucky I used the roadrunner-loon express, I guess.

Do you have a category suggestion or questions for the categories I already have? So far! 1) Is it a Medieval HAT or a Medieval MUSICAL INSTRUMENT? 2) This Modern Baby Name is What MEDIEVAL OCCUPATION? #librarysky Event is 10/30 so... SPOOKY MEDIEVAL might be fun.

I see from context clues that someone scolded people for taking an interest in international politics. I'm so exhausted by this. Just mute the word Brazil if it bothers you this much, scolding person.

I mean I dipped into my savings during METROSURGE, never mind my actial dedicated walking around money. My $10.00 here $5.00 there budget is gutted already. So it wasn't great but also it wasn't hard to say "I hope they win but I'm not donating if they don't stand up for trans people."

Kevin M. Kruse@kevinmkruse.bsky.social

When Democrats do well this fall, we’re going to see a lot of “strategists” trying to take credit for their approach. The trans panic people have been nothing but a drag on Democratic momentum and they need to fuck off into the sun

I should start donating $5.00 to the Transcontinental Underground every time a candidate who hopped on the trans panic steam train asks me for money between now and Nov. 3. We all matter, every day.

Delta is still helping ICE and there are still 2 flights moving our friendals and neighbors out of MN each week, so we're back at it again across from baggage claim 10 at MSP until 10pm tonight.

Kansas Dem Sen. nominee Adam Hamilton on trans rights: “I don’t think we should take a small group of people and bully them, pick on them, and hurt them. I understand one thing really clearly when it comes to transgender people, and that is Jesus told me I was to love my neighbor as I love myself”

I think this is about occasion, not class. The White House is open to the public, Cheesecake factory is low-mid spendy and lots of people go there. The interior of Cheesecake Factory is intended to be taken down the minute the chain closes the location in whatever stripmall is no longer profitable.

Olympians, professional athletes including beloved locals, and hall of famers went to my high school. Win HS conference finals? Cheesecake Factory. Bring home gold medals from the Olympics? White House. Eliteism works differently in this context.

Got a fundraising text from @amyactonoh.bsky.social. Hope she wins, her opponent is gross af. But I don't give money to candidates who won't push back against transpanic nonsense. It's real and personal.

ok yay wild brewers brewers fans now its time for greyhounds and librarians who live with greyhounds to go their virtuous rest good night sleep well and dream of happy sled dogs

Last week the city told 7 employees in the Elections department that they would no longer have a job at the end of the year. This is a department of 16 FT people. This was to be 7 people cut out of the clerks office and yet they chose one division and decimated it. Make this make sense. #notdoneyet

She's here! I did not know and now I do!!

One of my favorite fall combinations, ever, roasted winter squash is half-mashed with a tangy mess of vinegar-maple onions then heaped on ricotta toasts and finished with fresh mint. It's great for a party appetizer, or light meal with a big salad. smittenkitchen.com/2014/10/squa...

I was reading something in the exhibit when Younger Brother sidled up and asked "hey did you see Bud?" I thought he meant, like, he was visiting the museum. No, YB meant his story about being stationed at Ft. Snelling for language/interpreter training is *in the museum.*

Went to the store while listening to a podcast episode about the Battle of Agincourt and without thinking too much about it came home with ingrédients for bouf bourguignon. Now the apt smells like beef stew. Thx @mattlewishistory.bsky.social @goingmedieval.bsky.social

PS left Carmen T Greyhound straining at the slip (the groomer's) while braving the battlefield of an ABQ grocery store on a Saturday.

Maybe a phone call to the mayor's office, comrades? This makes me sick to my stomach.

Serafina@serafinas.bsky.social

I should have mentioned that my office is Minneapolis Elections & Voter Services. The Mayor's budget eliminates seven staff members less than two weeks before an anxiety-inducing midterm. No more high school election judge program. No more voter outreach.

Oh god. I will probably still be dealing with the clutter my parents leave behind. I am not inflicting the digital equivalent of a bunch of file boxes of old receipts, slides no one has a projector to display, and a few gorgeous items of now-vintage clothing on anyone. Nope.
