Just a few days ago, Speaker Mike Johnson, the puritanical pixie twit, refused to rule out arresting Governor Newsom. He added that Newsom should be “tarred and feathered,” a form of torture popularized by vigilantes. He is a reckless hypocrite.

It’s not hyperbole to say that the deaths in Minnesota are on the GOP’s hands. They’ve built this political environment and they’ve allowed a demagogue to spread hate. This is entirely on them.

Former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman was killed Saturday in a politically motivated assassination along with her husband, Mark, in their home. Minnesota lawmaker Sen. John Hoffman and his wife were also shot and wounded at their home nearby.
