Assassin's Creed Origins is 9 years old today!
Incredible concept art for the characters and world was shared in The Art of Assassin's Creed Origins, as seen below from artists @jeffsimpson.bsky.social, Martin Deschambault & Eddie Bennun 🦅
Three years ago, my dad said that all fish are the same shape.
Out of spite, I decided to draw all 478 families of bony fish listed in Nelson 2016. There's still some stuff I need to edit and some fish I want to redraw but, after 985 days, I finished my big dumb fish project last night.
some concept pieces I did when I was exploring what I wanted out of a vampire story, a thematic autopsy before assembling a plot. the plot has yet to be assembled, but tbh I kind of like this set as it's own thing
my favorite discussion topic on the killing of guy is the comparison to medieval hunt rituals because it reminds me of a text I really enjoy on the assassination of caligula and animal sacrifice
‘Thou shalt have the better cloathe’: Reading Second Skins in Robin Hood and Guy of Gisborne, Renée Ward / Rhetorics of Assassination: Ironic Reversal and the Emperor Gaius, Donna W Hurley
earlier this year I was thinking of doing a comic where guy and robin look the same at a distance and I’m still thinking about it. it’s the isolation of sameness babyyyyy
(Horseplay: Robin Hood, Guy of Gisborne, and the Neg(oti)ation of the Bestial, Stuart Kane)
the seer/general conflict is a real 'unstoppable force meets immovable object' situation, and they're both trapped in the same house. also the thracian charioteer from the first post is here, I just need to finish reading a book about charioteers and riots to pin a thought down
the general tried to bring the seer along on a military campaign and the seer stabbed his own eyes out over it and now the general keeps him around like a bird trapped in a cage. no divination, no omens, the situation remains a stalemate. for now :)
crassus and brutus independently disliking cicero is funny to me. they could've made a club about it, brutus would've been an absolute menace under crassus. (also featuring crassus jr, honorary member of the hating cicero club)

antony arrives, fulvia gets ready to stab cicero’s tongue to pieces with her hairpin & crassus jr is invited to join the party because I’ve written a whole arc filled with grief and resentment and miserable brother stuff just for crassus jr because he's my favorite. RIP to publius lmao
