I always ask myself why are we fighting for a better world if we can't actually stop to enjoy things or share in the joy of others? I know it can be a trauma response, but we need to unlearn it. There's no virtue in being miserable or expecting the worst. At very least stop bringing down strangers.

#askKaz not a lot? so far helluva boss doesn't go too deep into sexuality beyond what's story relevant, which makes sense. obviously we're getting the suitor subplot, so i'm guessing that's going to be the focus. i'm not sure HB is the right show to do the kind of ace rep I would want, honestly?

and the characters' asexuality (and hopefully aromanticism) being part of them + the writing without it being a big plot point that gets screen time, bc there's already a LOT going on in the show. i think once people actually know what asexuality is, we'll get more messy, nuanced aspec stories

until then, i mostly turn to indie work for my ace rep, made by and for us aces where we don't need to do ace 101 for the normies, until eventually we get enough mainstream media with aces that we don't need to do the basic explanations anymore 🤞

one of the annoying things w asexuality is visibility and education are so poor that it feels like you kind of have to do a 101 explainer if you're gonna dive in and get beyond surface-level, and hellaverse is much more about nuance. i've mostly made peace w getting confirmation out of canon,
