Kitty in pfp is my late Momo. I just adopted a dilute torbie named Gabi. All is in flux! Queer, disabled, nontheist (ex-vangelical), nerdy, depressive. Unusual likes: early music, black licorice, Tarkovsky movies. Pronouns: she/they kerendith many places

I was kinda bad about getting something fun. I was really close to picking a goofy tiara, but I wound up getting a 9 x 9 metal baking pan and some gluten-free snack mix. And toilet paper. Party.
Damn. Lost my post when I opened the camera. It's 10 a.m. I meant to sleep a little more between 4 a.m. and meds time at 9 a.m. I failed. And I'm still late taking meds. I think I'm going to use my Amazon gift card. I need to buy something fun so I can tell myself I didn't use a gift card for TP.

"It is unclear why it took more than four years for the probe to be completed and nearly two more years for the investigation to be shared with the public."
A Chicago police officer who shoved a woman who called 911 for help after her boyfriend beat and suffocated her more than six years ago will not be fired by city officials, according to records published Thursday. https://to.wttw.com/4zlZO2o
Used a Swiffer dusting thing on the corner that was all schmutzy. Filled out my ballot and put it in the mailbox. Watched the @wttw.bsky.social documentary on the 1893 Columbian Exposition. I was gonna try to do one more thing, but my back hurts again, so I'll go listen to my audiobook in bed.
I borrowed a horror anthology on Libby a few minutes ago. Just read a story by @cheriepriest.com, Good Night, Prison Kings. Wow. Really good one! Damn. I was definitely in the mood for some complicated justice. Have I wound down enough to sleep? Oh. Have to log my BP. Okay.

Tim Snyder, author of 'On Freedom' and 'On Tyranny', lists the great many things Ukraine has done for the US and freedom-loving nations everywhere. Meanwhile, Trump probably meant he received no personal payola from Ukraine when he said “We’ve given a lot to Ukraine. They’ve given us nothing!”
"It looks like just a cute painting of a mom and her kid, right? Wrong. This artwork by Mary Cassatt is actually a quiet protest for women’s rights, hidden in plain sight." youtube.com/shorts/k0Hh2...
Nearly 6 a.m. How to put myself to sleep... I'm not actually very sleepy. I'm not really good for anything, either. I listened to my fall-asleep audiobook for a good long while and didn't even doze off for 5 minutes. (It's... uh... I forgot. By Louis Bayard. "The School of Night." It's pretty good!)
...the wand in much the same manner she loafs attentively in the kitchen, suspecting mice. I'm making an effort to play when she does that, even though it sometimes means I miss @fumblebee.bsky.social doing something impressive in a battle. (Shadow of Mordor and now Shadow of War. But also we...

My brain is just not having it with higher-voiced narrators for falling asleep lately, you see. Sometimes it will accept them. I've been know to fall asleep listening to Elizabeth Knowelden reading Lady Hardcastle books. But currently it wants masculine voices. And English accents.
Argh, headache. Can't get to sleep. I'm making coffee. And I'm gonna take some vitamin D and a painkiller. Do I want to switch from the Bosch audiobook I was trying to fall asleep to? Hm. The Mumbai mystery book was seeming okay.
Hmmm. This is harder to answer than I thought. I think "weird" came pretty late. I started off around 4 with "I'm bad." And around 5 or 6 "I'm also pretty dumb." I'd say at age 8 I knew I was unusual because I got moved from 3rd grade to 4th. But weird? Late high school.
QUESTION OF THE DAY: This sounds like a joke question, but it isn’t. If it doesn’t apply to you, fine. But it’s a serious question with different levels of meaning. And I am genuinely curious. When did you first realize you were weird?
So if the USPS gets privatized someday, what happens with the stuff that postal inspectors do? We just not gonna go after wire fraud anymore?
A 78-year-old southern Illinois woman was alarmed when a popup message appeared on her computer in April warning that it had been compromised. She Googled the number for Microsoft support and called the first option that appeared in her search results. https://to.wttw.com/4jC3OXC
Started "Hokum" on Hulu. (I forgot to cancel Disney+.) Horror movie. It isn't bad so far, but the asshole writer main character just did something awful and I dunno if I wanna spend any more time with him.
Coffee is ready! So, coffee and meds. I think I want to watch something while I do that. Hm. Horror movie? Cartoon? Reacher? I'm halfway through the 3rd season of Reacher. Looking forward to Neagley. I read a comic called "Vault" on hoopla earlier. Scifi horror. Nice art.
