Sometimes I feel like I've shot myself in the foot when it comes to landing a job, for spending so much time making Paleoart maybe I can't find work in Singapore because my portfolio is too full of trilobites and ammonites, and not enough sodas and sport shoes 3D renders or branding stuff

Alt: Deltoblastus is similar to a crinoid, it looks like a flower bud with a stalk, on the 'bud' there is a five-sided star like indentation where the food grooves are, small tendrils called brachioles jut out from this food groove area, giving the flower bud a somewhat fuzzy look

My beloved Poop-shaped snail #Art #SciArt #PaleoArt

Cameo: this wasn't part of the script but I had the power to #InsertAnInvert, so I specifically asked @kiabugboy.bsky.social to model us Dendropupa vetusta, the oldest land snail, which was also found in Joggins Formation. Please admire the snails. This is important.

alt: another silurian brachiopod (look like clams but are not molluscs) that's basically just ball-shaped, here wity a yellow color looking like eye-less jack-o-lanterns

alt: Silurian brachiopod with prominent concentric ridges(rugae), the valve is somewhat square-ish in shape. the rims sort of extrudes thinly upwards. Also some of these guys retain a functional pedicle until adulthood.

Alt: productid brachiopods look like clams but they are not molluscs, they have one conves bowl-like valve and one flat concave valve. The concave valve is where their lophophore attaches to, it's a bristly tentacle that traps particles. Many productids have spikes on their shell to anchor them.

alt: top and side view of a paraspirifer brachiopod, they superficially look like clam shells, but inside you can see the spiral lophophore, the two filter feeding appendages that kinda look like a coiled spring. In the extinct spiriferids, these lophophores are supported by a hardened structure

alt text: portrait video with final 3d render of horn corals from my latest video at the top half, and the grey Blender viewport at the bottom half, no gen AI was used in my work

alt: close up of a chain coral, individual polyps line up almost like a row of candles in a chaotic polygonal pattern. on it are two horn corals with skeletons shaped like a stack of plates. out of this skeleton there are rhizoids, root like structures used for holding the coral in place.

alt: Ordovician reef. The floor is filled with brachiopods, superficially clam-like animals. In the bg are aulacerid sponges, like underwater saguaro cactuses. And an Orthocone. At the center is the horn coral, it lays sideways, and the cross section has three lobes. the polyp has many tentacles

Wayang purbakala The iconic myth from my hometown (a shark fighting a crocodile) depicted as Javanese wayang shadow puppets of Permian animals. #wayang #wayangkulit #3D #blender3d #Surabaya #Indonesia #Permian #paleoart #SciArt
