hey hey, I'm lettering this series! I like the story of Worm a lot and we've been working hard on its adaptation with @megfitz89.bsky.social, @javierortizartwork.bsky.social & @davidgvaquero.bsky.social. special thanks to @sercas.bsky.social for coordinating us, she put a lot of care into it! 🙏

Lastly, I appreciated that they didn't try to commission another "I Really Want to Stay at Your House" and use some new song as the season's musical motif- the magic of that song is not reproduceable. Not trying in vain to repeat does the season a great service, I think

The way it keeps S1 in mind is well-acknowledged in the end, I think- D ruminated about S1 David and is like "I like my friends, but I'm not that down bad for any of them."

Very much was made with the first season in mind- where S1 was so closely focused on David and his relationship with Lucy with an odd jump in pacing halfway through (i didn't mind it, but i know many others did)...

S2 is more of a 'moving parts' plot where the various interrelationships between Roman, D, Omi, Talia, Weak, and Avida all start out in interesting places and then contract into eachother at a pace that I really enjoyed.

I spent a year watching school administrators do their jobs—and interviewing the students most impacted. I spoke to @thecut.com in a long-form Q&A about what I saw. Mainly, a system designed to protect perpetrators and punish victims in each and every case.

thecut.comThe Reason Why Colleges Still Fail to Address Sexual ViolenceThe “Cornell Seven” case highlights what’s wrong with Trump’s Title IX rules — and how the system was always designed to fail.

Shade the Changing Girl basically single-handedly got me into comics. I'll forever love this series.

Is there a virtual machine equivalent of the internet where i can practice the art of posting before dipping my toes in the real thing

An entire thesis can be written about @blockedforthispost.bsky.social in how it turns a thing that makes Bluesky much less awful than Twitter (its generally block-positive culture) into one of the more engaging phenomena that Bluesky failed to inherit from Twitter (the Twitter-person-of-the-day)

The shit Rose puts up with

I am not a scientist, yet I’m aware that flies fly: thus they are not restrained by state borders. And weirdly, they seem to have no respect for political party affiliation. Just an FYI, Rose.

i joined matt bernstein to talk to ashley st clair, a mother to one of elon musks babies, who’s since exited the far right movement. we spent this time grilling her talking to her about her past bigotry and what made her change

Is it reverse mind virus if i dont hate this one paragraph of prose in isolation (answer is yes most definitely)

Only 17 pages in and I am winded. This passage, folks… Don’t ever write like this. Just don’t do it.

Is there a variant of the Bechdel test for when you’re four chapters into Dispatch and you don’t know any of these women’s actual names

I don't actually like the dodgers it's just that this series has sparked some gross primal nationalistic instinct inside me. Also Otani is neat I think

Bluesky changed its mobile logo to have ugly ass beveling and drop shadow. This is the sign of the times and a clear recession indicator. Delete your account and by buy gold bonds while you still can.

As a fun reminder: Pointing out Deciding to Win's acute losing edge is not just snark. WelcomePAC specifically works with Blue Dog PAC, getting worse every year and has reached peak weakness in 2024 (see image). WelcomePAC also just doesn't win. They lost to JD Vance, and they lost to Calvert.

in retrospect highly offensive to actual child abuse victims to have hundreds of theater kids being like “here are my alters…all 13 members of organization XIII”

Despite the fact that Charlie Kirk is not in this documentary, our distributor, a major national movie chain, got cold feet and pulled out. Jeffrey Epstein: Bad Pedophile had Donald Trump in it, so they were out.

Something something men can’t find the thing something something (It’s an incredible work, though the joke is very tired and kinda undermines real appreciation for the statue)

The new statue of the Madonna at Santa Teresa di Gallura is an "abstract of Mary's form" 👀
