Really liked this. Great work @harlequindiver.bsky.social! An EXCELLENT showcase of the idiosyncrasies of the Decker engine. I believe this might be the first commercial Decker game on Steam? Love games like this that take thoughtful, personal, "seamful" design choices. Highly recommended.

Sad to report that the European Sleeper train was pretty horrendous despite some lovely conversations with co-passengers and this view from the back. The sleeping coaches creak and groan and screech, all the toilets (!) flooded, and travel info was scarce and poor. Can't see myself taking this again

Krish Raghav@krishraghav.bsky.social

Using this as a chance to test two (!) new train options betn Amsterdam and Berlin: 1/ the low-cost GoVolta "Ryanair on wheels", cobbled together from refurbished 1980s Belgian carriages, and 2/ the European Sleeper night train, to which I bring decades of Indian SL class cross-country experience

Let's GoVolta! My "booking" that was a "reservation" is now a "boarding pass" after "check-in"

Pulling out of Hannover, last stop before Berlin. On time! Something about the old-school carriages made me feel closer to the route and to others. People shared food, started conversations. Felt more social and open than normal IC trains, which are very flight-like.

And here we are at Berlin Gesundbrunnen, right on time! Really enjoyed this trip. For 30€, it was a steal. That said, I had a flexible schedule and didn't care about delays, and was traveling with friends, and we came loaded with snacks and drinks. Until next time, GoVolta!

And we're off, on time! 7.5 hours to Berlin Gesundbrunnen (Not Hauptbahnhof), but that works for me since it's closer to A MAZE. - also this train was 40% the cost of the regular IC Berlijn.
