Mass deportations are an act of violence against fellow humans. We can’t enforce our way out of a broken immigration system ✨ he/him/his

I am in Cap Haitien interviewing people deported from the United States. I have been doing this kind of work for almost a decade and it literally does not get more dire than this. People have lost everything they built in the U.S. and are terrified and have no place to go or way to live.

A federal judge found that ICE agents' sworn testimony bears the hallmarks of fabrication. That is wrong, and it should alarm everyone, wherever they stand on immigration. When ICE agents lie under oath, people get locked up and deported because of it.

DHS has shot and killed two U.S. citizens, killed several immigrants on U.S. streets, and led the occupations of multiple U.S. cities. They're at war, but it isn't with cartels or terrorists.

We are a broken nation. Hundreds of thousands of Haitians were living and working legally, paying taxes, and contributing. Haiti remains wholly unsafe. But Trump hates Haitians, and the White House wanted videos of Black people in chains, so they stripped them of status and turned on the cameras.

We don’t talk enough about how amazing the people in the immigration advocacy-research-comms-policy ecosystem are. Every time I get a room w/ folks, I’m like, dang, everyone’s so committed and smart and working like crazy and trying to build/uphold community. This is where hope springs eternal.

Capital One closed HUNDREDS of bank accounts associated with Trump & his businesses in 2021 for "anti-money laundering reasons." Any President engaging in money laundering should be a national scandal. But in the Trump era, this news is barely a blip. Disgraceful.

I work on an issue where, fundamentally, the people who are most directly affected can’t vote. That means there actually is a moral obligation on the part of those who can to understand how things work, and what needs to be done to fix them.

Our local newspaper, The Portland Press Herald, has lifted their paywall on coverage of the ICE shooting of a man in Biddeford, Maine this morning. They have excellent reporters and will have much more accurate information than natl news as we learn more: www.pressherald.com/2026/07/13/s...

I knew this would happen. The conservative answer to everything is to monetize people’s pain.

You’re not going to believe Republicans’ latest solution to rising healthcare costs…if this is their best idea then God help us all, because the GOP definitely won’t. 🤯

THAT’s what it is. I couldn’t put my finger on it, but it’s the “under the guise of” aspect that makes it so fucking worse somehow

This is criminal and the number of people who see it and are working hard at every level to stop keeps growing. At the same time there's no sign that deportations like this are slowing down. We need asking to electeds to explain publicly explain why they're using our tax dollars for this.

ICE's flight taking persecuted people from safety into a civil war is on its final leg to the Central African Republic, a country so dangerous the United States recommends all Americans avoid traveling there for any reason whatsoever. So much for supporting the people of Iran.

The ICE Air flight (OAE2272) has just departed Ghana and is now en route, likely stopping in Central African Republic next. This flight is carrying Iranians, Afghans and others granted protection by a U.S. IJ.

WOW. Incredible. This is the case in which DHS claimed that ICE officers had been attacked with a shovel and fired back in self-defense. Evidence since suggests an ICE officer fired through a closed door and struck someone on the other side. Will DHS retract the prior claims?
