How. hard. is. it. to translate "man... his" as "person...one's" if you KNOW that the thing was written at a time /place when women & ppl of other genders were excluded from public life but this was the clear plain meaning of the text? The amount of time I spend retranslating just this, people.

If nothing else, I hope everyone flinging open their windows helps air this all out. I've personally been reminding myself that the guilt I feel is misplaced/mislabeled. I am so angry that people were hurt (both by silence and by everyone speaking out). Unhinged indeed.
