(1/2) Ever wonder how climate impacts bats? 🌍 Cold, wet springs leave them underweight, extreme heat can turn bat boxes into ovens, and humid roosts make cooling tough. Let's support them with diverse roost options! What else can we do to help our flying friends? #BatWeek

This reminds me how I have been slacking & have to prepare the lablit list update. Not as good this year but I have not done enough research... 😬

Changes with Friday’s low #StormAusten a track through English Channel is now favoured with Channel Islands/northern French coast taking brunt perhaps near 80mph gusts. Cornwall and parts of Devon look to see damaging winds >70mph around 7am, but generally 40-45mph gusts not that impactful. (1/2)

The jet stream is playing a key role in Storm Austen's development. As the storm interacts with a powerful Atlantic jet stream, conditions are helping it deepen rapidly as it approaches the UK. Our meteorologists explain the science behind it 👇 www.metoffice.gov.uk/blog/2026/ho...

Just okay… A small, independent island off US coast begins banning the use of alphabetical letters. A fun concept, it just became tedious to me. 💙📚🖋️ #BookSky #Books #Review #BookRec #LitFic #Novel #Letters #Literature #Parable

I am often baffled by what does or does not get picked up by people on this website. I must suppose that when you post is fairly critical - if like me you only use this place on a computer, you do not ten to look back at everyone's timelines, even for the people whose posts you are most eager to see

I'm thrilled to share my first foray into nature writing. I describe my travels through Aotearoa New Zealand to see the country's rarest birds—and use this as a vehicle to tell the stories of the islands' evolutionary history and the bold conservation efforts that saved these creatures. Gift link
