Look, here's the thing. With layoffs, shutdowns, and GTA coming out in a month: If a game looks cool to you and you have the disposable income: buy it. Don't just cheer on indie games from the sidelines. Don't wait for a sale, or until you have time. Support art that excites you, tangibly.

My heart goes out to everyone at Bioware. This fucking sucks and it hurts a lot. When any studio shuts down, it hurts but this really, really hurts. Mass Effect remains one of my all time series. I figured this was what was going to happen sooner rather than later but it's no less shocking to see.

The main selling point of ANY game is the premise, honestly. For example, the premise of my team's game, Bitter Silver, is: "Track down targets as an intergalactic bounty hunter with your misfit crew to find your mom." Short, sweet, to the point. That's the key to selling your game.

Payment processors, banks, & politicians knew we would slow down to a halt eventually if they held out long enough. If you're not still calling, writing, emailing, @ ing on socials, what-have-you (though calls are best), now is as good of a time as any to start back up.
