94 year old Jewish human rights barrister, Margaret Owen arrested under the Terrorism Act outside andy burnham's Labour Party conference. UK taxpayers are funding these arrests while masked men terrorise the streets in coastal towns. Lift The Ban on Palestine Action.

Here's hoping that the foiled attack on Fairford will make folk more aware that the UK is up to its neck in the war with Iran. And so "terrorists" disnae quite fit, does it?

If protest did not work, they would not fight it so hard. Mass arrests, surveillance, and prison threats for peaceful activists. Governments and polluters are weaponising the law because they fear collective power. It's #TimeToResist

Scotland is facing a rush of hyperscale AI datacentre proposals, without a strategy or understanding of their impact on our energy, water & communities. @scottishgreens are calling for a pause on new hyperscale datacentres — and on Wednesday we're bring that call to a vote in Parliament.

A year ago, the Scottish Parliament voted for action. The Scottish Government is still failing to deliver it. Today, I again stand with the BDS movement outside the Scottish Parliament, demanding that the Government acts on the will of Parliament. 1/4

From Nation of Strangers (La Nación de los Extraños) : "A country is a table surrounded by loved ones to whom you don't have to explain your jokes, and the vast territory surrounding it—which is primarily your imagination." Gracias @octaviosb.bsky.social

Qué bella sentencia para recordar hoy: "Un país es una mesa rodeada de seres queridos a quienes no tienes que explicarle tus chistes, y el vasto territorio que la rodea, que es principalmente tu imaginación", @ecetemelkuran.bsky.social

Apart from ruining the study of the night sky and the increased risk of the Kessler sydrome . . . The average Starlink satellite lasts about *five years*. Think of the impact of constant rocket launches, and countless tonnes of precious and toxic materials being left to burn up in the atmosphere.

Musk's SpaceX has announced plans to launch more than 1 million satellites by 2028 to serve as data centers powering the AI boom. Other projects would add hundreds of thousands more satellites that orbit Earth. This has devastating consequences for observers of the night sky. It's pure madness.

We need more honest language: Theft Tech (AI) Grift Tech (crypto) Death Tech (automated weapons and military surveillance)

"theft tech" is a term my pal @astra.bsky.social thought of just today when we were working on our book about these End Times Fascists. We were thinking about what should happen when this this bubble busts, as we all know it will. Remember: they have bunkers. We don't. 2/3

"For anyone committed to social justice, the saga of the Kirkgate benches is an affront to community diversity and integration. It was a violent act of social cleansing, a silent declaration that some people’s comfort is more valuable than other people’s survival" www.discontent.wtf/news/holding...

What happened to us? Scotland used to be a warm & welcoming place. Increasing hostility against migrants is making us cold. On Saturday, we said no to racism, no to xenophobia, & showed solidarity with the minoritised & the scapegoated in Aberdeen✊
