I see a lot of talk about European weakness, and I think too many have fallen for the arms trap. Europe is strong today because it kept arms at bay. Politics should be the first, foremost line of defence. Then social strength. Arms are the strength of weak minded or those who failed the first above.

Nuclear weapons remain amongst the foremost threats to humanity, according to the Lancet's recent report on global risks. Despite reducing global stockpiles since the Cold War, there are STILL more than enough nuclear weapons to end humanity by triggering nuclear winter. https://ow.ly/kfQv50ZXxFr

Sobering. I think that our focus should now be on the way these existential threats converge and combine to accelerate.
