Advertisers and political fundraisers ruin everything. Using email, text messaging, and any social media platforms have become almost unbearable experiences because I have to spend too much time weeding out unsolicited asks for my attention or money.

The decision to overfund a military to “defend” a people who are far more likely die of preventable causes because we refuse to ensure that they have healthcare is maddening

Schumer: ball’s in your court Republicans: stab the ball, tear it apart, set it on fire, rip up the court and sell the turf to Bahrain Schumer: hey you guys are out of balls Republicans: we’re gonna kill your families Schumer: ok we’ll pass funding for new balls but you’ve GOT to read the rules

How close are we to the Trump administration finally playing the dementia card to argue he wasn't lying about Epstein he just doesn't remember and that we shouldn't punish a sick old man for something that happened years ago.

When the administration talks about radical transparency they are referring to how we can see through to Trump's innards because he possesses such thin skin.

I shouldn't be shocked, but I'm still always brought up short to realize how many people think "civility" means "white people speaking in relatively calm voices" no matter what vile shit they say.

There has been a rush among centrists like Gavin Newsom and Ezra Klein to brush over the hateful life of Charlie Kirk and valorize the man. Let me be clear, killing Charlie Kirk was wrong and abhorrent. We must condemn murder without sanitizing a man who built his empire on hate. My latest piece.

erininthemorning.comWe Must Not Posthumously Sanitize Charlie Kirk's Hateful LifeInfluential anti-LGBTQ+ activist Charlie Kirk was assassinated on Wednesday. While condemning violence is something most can get behind, sanitization of his hate has gone too far.

I would love to see someone start a robust online record for an alt-universe Democratic president who does all the stuff Trump does that the media and GOP seem happy to shrug off. Social posts, news headlines, court rulings, gimme.

There are people who actually believe in a set of values, and there are those whose only value is power. The latter often perform values (see manufactured outrage), but it is solely for the purpose of obtaining or maintaining power. Hypocrisy and double standards expose this. Stop buying it.

“The New York Times collaborated with a white nationalist eugenicist hacker and agreed to keep his identity a secret to publish a Zohran Mamdani hit piece” is a way bigger story than “18 year old Zohran Mamdani ticked ‘African American’ on his Columbia application because he was a citizen of Uganda”

This has always been the GOP's strategy: 1) Cut taxes for the wealthy & corporations by claiming they'll pay for themselves. 2) Explode deficits 3) Use the debt as an excuse to demand cuts to vital programs that help millions. 4) Repeat.

🧵I think it’s important to understand what disinformation like Sen. Mike Lee’s tweets are trying to do, psychologically/cognitively. In my disinfo class/Substack, I talk about how disinfo often uses “moral disengagement strategies” to manipulate people into accepting harmful conduct 1/

This is an egregiously shameful tweet from a US senator

I thought the podbay doors were open, but they weren't. Now they are. DAVE: I'm still looking at a set of closed podbay doors.

Ways and Means Chair Jason Smith refuses to read a line from Republican's legislation that would provide a tax break for owners of tanning beds. Fernandez: "So if you have a tanning bed, you get a little bit of a tax break and if you need a hospital bed in rural America, you're out of luck."
