The same industry whose ‘art’ can’t even achieve basic levels of consistency in the rendering of their trumpet-fanfared AI actress, ‘Tilly Norwood’. What colour are her eyes supposed to be, exactly? P😳🙄😂🤣🤣🤣

Reputed to have made $100m doing it. Personally I would be anyone's shill for £1m and then I would shut up and keep out of the public for the rest of my life. No one's taken me up on the offer

If your business cannot prosper without breaking the law, then it is not a business. It is organized crime. Like those dependent on slavery, child labor, or wage theft, it should go out of business as soon as possible.

The good thing, is that that bill doesn't mean jack shit for the rest of the world. My hope is that the US continues to lose status and relevance, until the adults get back in charge.

How is it going with this bill? I'm french and have a limited grasp of the intricacies of US politics. Not to mention that following French politics is already pretty exhausting in its own right. Will the bill pass for sure or is there a chance to thwart it? When is the voting done?

Good. They should have thought about that before stealing millions of books, copyrighted articles, artworks etc before training their LLMs! Aside from those at the tho, creative professionals often struggle to make ends meet and wholesale theft from AI companies makes it even more difficult

That man sold whatever soul he had. He made a political career out of supporting people’s rights, he fucked that up with a terrible deal with Cameron, then buggered off to work for Mammon.

You gotta love this guy. It isn’t feasible to ask artists for consent first. So, what else? I don’t have to ask Nicky here for consent before I bully him in the gym shower and take advantage of him? I mean, it’s really not feasible to ask first seeing as how he might say no. Fuck these people.

Someone should sue to get an injunction on any and all AIs that use stolen data. And then we should be signing treaties with countries to ensure any AI is ethical AI. And countries that use illegal AI should have economic sanctions.

Really seems like NOT asking artists for use permission would kill the ART industry. Which, in the end, would also kill the AI industry when their content sources dry up.

This. AI is a useful tool but like any tool, it has to be used ethically. If AI cannibalizes the creator industry, it will die because it will just be cannibalizing its own output. Fixing the issue by asking artist permission will be better for AI as a tool in the long term.

I'm a big fan of AI & very bullish about its value. But that doesn't imply support for a license to steal Would it be fair use if I borrow a few $$ from every bank I can find with no obligation to pay interest or to even repay the funds? Nationalize the companies and pay the content creators.

“We can’t make a profit unless you let us steal everybody’s IP” is Not the legal argument he thinks it is. Saying this on one hand, and then gloating about the number of people who would be replaced by AI once it steals their work? Sick.

If the industry is based on illegal conduct & rights violation, it's not an industry that ANY government should support, no? What other industries would they like to support? Armed robbery? Kidnapping & blackmail? Human trafficking? These are some of the industries that also don't require consent.

Bc armed robbers can surely innovate various ways to conduct business. Human traffickers could also innovate tremendous new ways to traffic People to make a lot of money. Kidnappers have been innovating for centuries and perfecting the art of blackmail. Should we support these industries too?
