This is Snickers. He was my best friend. I lost him July 30th, and almost every day I think about how the entire world has gone to hell since he left it. I miss you so much, baby boy.💔

Another shot from my visit to the marina yesterday. This beautiful heron flew over the water in front of the lovely fall colors.

I went over to the marina this morning during golden hour to try to get some fall photos. I’m really proud of this one. I came across this leaf stuck between the boards on the pier. It was fun framing this so the fall colors would appear in the background.

Once you accept that MAGA cares more about feeling superior to others than their own wellbeing, it all makes sense.

I think Covid broke us. Too many people were completely fine with sacrificing older and vulnerable people because they couldn't be inconvenienced. That showed me a lot. I'm not surprised by how far we've fallen. America is the most selfish country on Earth, and it's not close. I'm ashamed.

Just want to say thank you to all my fellow Feds who took the DRP and went on admin leave today. It was a bittersweet day, and it sucked to not get any congratulations or recognition after 33 years of public service. I know many are in the same boat, and I want you to know I appreciate you!❤️ #FedFam

Battlestar Galactica warned about this years ago. #maddow

For me, that was the last episode of The Last of Us. I’m not a gamer. I was in it for the characters. Apparently, mostly one character.

I’m so tired of being other people’s advocate while no one advocates for me.

Hell god baby damn no! RIP David Lynch. Truly one of a kind.

We are renaming the Greenland Shark as the Fan Duel Sportsbook™ America Shark.

My submission for Flickr’s best photo of 2024 contest. Today is the last day before voting begins. So many great photos entered, so I would be grateful if you’d share it flic.kr/p/2qzo8Rh

If there is a God, he’s probably thinking, “I can’t believe they made friends with the cats.”

I’ve reported on homelessness for years and met many, many people who have found themselves in awful situations Every single one of them had more decency and integrity than this privileged plutocrat

Jordan Neely was unarmed. He needed support and care. Instead, he received a death sentence. His family grieves while the man who took his life walks free.

@shawnaroo.bsky.social thank you for liking Huntress’s picture. It made me sad that no one had. I appreciate that you did. 🙂

Please say hello to Huntress! She’s 21 years old, and I just want everyone to see her. #catpics #catsofbluesky

Sorry, pearl-clutching Dems, but "I would never pardon my child, even with a retribution-promising President coming to power" is not the righteous stand you think it is.

When addressing MAGA Republican concerns about the Hunter Biden pardon, the correct answer is "because fuck you, that's why"

I have spoken publicly abt concerns my clients, fed employees & others have w/incoming #Trump Admin re: retaliation. We are compiling lists of attnys, CPAs, Drs (counseling field) who wld be willing to provide pro bono services if necessary. If interested, please email me at mark@markzaid.com.

MAGA drinking raw milk is gonna start another pandemic, isn’t it?

You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.

Great article. YES! Tell Americans what Trump is promising to do. Tell them what to expect and how it will affect them. TELL THEM! And then, when they see those things start to happen, maybe, just maybe, they will blame Trump. Maybe they will then be able to make the connection.

I have had more men dms here in 5 days than I had in 3 years on twitter Why???!!! Pro tip men: Following you back is not an invitation to dm us. 🛑 Stop it 🛑

Post a perfect album from the 90s that isn’t Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, or Alice In Chains.

Important note for reporters covering the GOP's effort to ban trans women from bathrooms on Capitol Hill: while Sarah McBride and Nancy Mace both have private bathrooms in their offices, the trans people who are not elected officials who have to work there every day do not.

"Here's how it's going to play out" and "Here's what you need to do to resist" both make me jumpy. We don't know how it's going to play out. And there's a thousand ways to resist. History is unfolding. It's okay to live with ambiguity, and to take some time to find your footing.

Americans saw this amazing woman and decided to vote for a convicted felon who wants to give tax cuts to billionaires and will cut Medicare, Social Security, education funding, and housing assistance to pay for it.

Wisdom from Battlestar Galactica

I sometimes do photography for fun. I’ve gotten away from it in recent years. Maybe it’s time to start back up. I’m sure it would help bring me some much needed peace. These are a few of my favorites I’ve captured over the years.
