Heated bathroom floors, a good towel warmer, and a contract for delivery-on-demand with whoever makes this really delicious lemon and honey crumbly cheese a friend brought over to share one time that I've been dreaming about having again ever since.

question for the audience: if you were ultra rich (let’s say $25M), what completely frivolous thing are you buying?

If you're wondering, "But, Enthusiast, why so many funerals? That is too many!" I would agree with you. But people in my life, personal and professional, keep dying because cancer (personal) and murder (professional) suck.

If you also wonder how my mental health is doing, let's just say not well. But not having to stress about whether I'll look like an adult who is put together rather than a barely-sentient blob of cells is honestly so relieving. It's one less stressor in a difficult time.

Dear TV networks, we don't actually need to see replays of injuries if you feel the need to warm the squeamish to look away. It's OK to just note it happened and show literally anything else.

I have now completed Funeral Weekend #3 straight, and my margaritas contains so much tequila. Today's was two hours of standing and two hours of service and never enough hours to process all the losses. I love you all and I'm so, so tired.

Omigod, this is the most heartwarming story possible! Backpack (bear 89) is the son of the 2019 winner of Fat Bear Week, Holly (bear 435). In 2007, he injured his foot & a practice of riding on momma's Holly's back had a new meaning: he was mobility-restricted while it healed. So Holly moved him.

Meet Backpack, your 2026 Fat Bear Week champion. Backpack is 20 years old, weighs about 1,000 pounds and got his nickname because, as a cub, he loved riding on his mom's back across the Brooks River.

I need to read this later. I have many thoughts.

In 1965, an American scholar bought her first stolen god from two boys outside a Kathmandu temple. Grains of rice were still stuck to it — offerings from worshippers. She paid less than $2 and wrote in her diary: "I don't think the temple will miss it at all." 🧵 www.himalmag.com/mary-slusser...

Hiiiiiii can I interest you in shiny things? I’ve been out sick for a week so no new pieces, but I did restock some sold-out leaf earrings and there are other pretties that haven’t found a home yet. wyrdingstudios.com (Shares very appreciated since being out sick for a week is, uh, Kinda Not Great)

Coming to a place where you don't know the language but you know enough to know, to understand, what you've lost. To deeply mourn what you left behind. To have completely separate challenges that even the person who shares your place of origin doesn't understand.

Supergirl... Many, many feelings after watching Supergirl. A very different story from Superman, but of course she is — they might be from the same planet, but their experiences could barely have been less alike (the parents who raised them each were loving, and that's about it).

Hawkgirl, nearly entirely. Especially since she knows how dumb the "Justice Gang" is as a name. Twelve, for sure. Gary, maybe. Did I watch this so I could watch Supergirl? Yeah. But also to see if this guy truly is punk rock. Turns out he is.

Dolly spent her life making sure the children who came after her had at least a little something to make difficult lives harder, from books to vaccines. She gave money after the fires. She honored the firefighters who saved lives and homes. She brought joy and light and color everywhere 🦋🦋🦋

No, autocattery, I did NOT in fact mean "sick-driven." What would that even mean?! Dick-driven. Penis-powered. Cock-compelled. Girth-guided. Sword-summoned. The man was horny, yo. #Lanterns #DC #HornyLantern

Really enjoying how I'm getting bits and pieces of Lantern lore instead of a massive info-dump. What I know about the Lanterns might not fill a thimble, so I appreciate the way the show is bringing noobs like me along for the ride. #DC #Lanterns

I think I found my soul-building.

Since so much of my Seoul trip was secret, I will just share pics of my favorite corner of Gangnam, a neighborhood so stressed about keeping up appearances that even its buildings let out a primal scream.

Watching this season of Hard Knocks, and it's kind of fascinating seeing behind the scenes. I've never thought much about how hard it can be to keep people from going all out all the time. You want to be at the peak of your abilities, but you can't always give that much against your teammates.
