Listen: if you don’t know enough about politics to tell the difference between the Republicans and the Democrats, no worries. I won’t judge you. But you can see with your own eyes what Republicans do. Maybe let’s not vote that way this time, kay? We have to heat our homes this winter.

I really do think you should vote. Your actual vote is secret, but the fact that you voted is not. Being a regular voter means campaigns will try to win you over. The more trans people are regular voters the more likely it is that candidates will worry about needing to win our votes.

I’m not a political journalist, so was gladly surprised at the community I found here last night. To Americans anxious about the upcoming elections, a key thing we learned in Brazil that might help you: DO NOT engage with the far-right online. Don’t share rage bait. Amplify your people. Ignore them.

Listen, I do understand why trans people feel betrayed by Dems. And I think what some of them are doing is complete bullshit. But y’all are really approaching this voting thing from a weird perspective, as if politicians are salesmen and if you don’t like what they’re selling you can opt out.

Republicans do not. They want Jim Crow back. They want us back in the closet. They want women to stop competing with them for the good paying jobs. And they will work together to make that happen. Dems have fighters in their ranks who won’t let the red state dems toss you under the bus for real,

I know it’s tough right now. Everything is an assault on our nervous systems, especially if you’re trans. This is a plea to not give up. Your ancestors started this fight a generation ago @Stonewall. It’s been a hard road, and we’ve got a ways to go. Please don’t cede your power. You’re not alone.

But not if the country falls to the fascists. Politics is difficult when both parties are treating your personal struggles like an inconvenience to even entertain. But this is not new. We’ve (queer people) been down this road before. And I will keep fighting with you for equality under the law.

No one is asking you to fight alone. We’re with you. I don’t plan on leaving any of this to chance. I will be on the phone and sending emails to keep the pressure on to stop the full on assault on your rights. And you can help make that easier by electing Dems. They’re flexible. They learn.

Voting is not just a right. It’s our duty. And I wholeheartedly agree that Dems are getting it wrong when they are willing to sacrifice trans people, even in deep red districts. But if you think the outcomes will be the same regardless of who wins, you’re mistaken.

Every single one of us over the age of 40 has had to vote for a candidate who said publicly “marriage is between one man and one woman.” And yet we still achieved marriage equality. If we had stayed home, disengaged, given up… that wouldn’t have happened. We can change their minds.

Intersting statistic: Trans people are about 0.5% of the population Intersex people are about 1.5% of the population (3x as many) In case anyone tells you that intersex people shouldn’t be discussed in the bathroom debate because “it’s so rare.” 🙄 Trans people are ✨more✨ rare. Jussayin.

Yeah I think some races are going to flip some seats but I don’t think it’s going to be the bloodbath we’re hoping for. Too many people willing to sit it out.

If it wasn’t clear before, it should be now: these tech bros are our aristocracy and it’s up to us to stop them. The politicians refuse.

Casual reminder to Democrat politicians that even the majority of conservative voters don't really seem motivated to vote based on hating trans people. And if they did they certainly wouldn't vote for you. So all you do in opposing trans rights is lose voters.

I am fully prepared for my fellow Americans to disappoint me (and the rest of the world) yet again. Too many people on this app telling people not to vote to stick it to the Dems for saying disappointing things about trans people, or not using strong enough language about Israel.

One side hates you and wishes you would die and the other has a few members who decline to change things to include you in single sex spaces. 💥A failure to vote is a vote for the ones who hate you💥 Hope y’all see it before it’s too late. ☹️

Folks! If you're using a mail-in ballot, TRACK ITS RECEIPT. Someone just told me her ballot was never received. She's being sent a new ballot. DOUBLE CHECK YOUR ON-SITE BALLOT WHEN YOU VOTE CHECK THAT MAIL-IN BALLOTS HAVE BEEN RECEIVED Sad to say--but double-check EVERYTHING in this election.

I’ve been up since midnight because my new downstairs neighbor fell asleep with his tv volume turned up to a hundred and fifty-eleven. I hope all his socks have holes in the toes. Forever.

Quick reminder that your congress critters need to hear your outrage and often. If you haven’t called or written in the last couple of hours, consider this your reminder.

Fully fund public schools. Fund classroom supplies and books. Fund extracurriculars and after school programs. Fund high quality child care. Fund the arts and foreign language programs. Increase both pay and performance demands for public school teachers. Invest in our future. Period.

I'm not kidding, the guy simply has to be at the very least deported at the end of this. If we're doing "he's not from here" shit, he is the most not from here guy alive. He needs jail or deportation the second it's viable to do it.

THEY ARE NOT POWERLESS TO STOP HIM! Go back to Washington, stand on the steps of the Capitol and demand Johnson and Thune recall the House and Senate, and impeach him. THIS IS HOW IT IS SUPPOSED TO WORK! THERE IS LITERALLY AN INSTRUCTION MANUAL! (It's called the Constitution.)

Republican lawmakers are incensed about Trump's dismissal of Ukraine — and powerless to stop him. That frustration hit a new peak on Monday as they sought to address Trump’s decision to purchase Russian diesel, waive sanctions on Moscow, and potentially stop sharing intelligence with Ukraine.

Make no mistake: this transphobic panic over trans women and girls participating in sports is designed to *kill* Title IX, not help it. Don’t fall for it. They want us back under their control. I say THAT’S NOT HAPPENING

We get nothing either way. Might as well save democracy.

I don't know why the Democrats aren't saying this out loud, day after day. We, the citizens are fighting our own government. On every level, including elections, of all things, we are fighting our own government. This is tyranny. Say it. Tyranny.

Isn’t it funny how the right consistently accuses us of the things that they do? Like planting paid protesters in town halls?

Of course he blames the US and Ukraine and Europe. Can’t be the aggressor’s fault. Can we all agree that predators must be purged from our government? Including this walking red flag?

Ron Johnson blames US for Putin invading Ukraine: "The way we treated Russia after we won the Cold War, how we pushed them. I'm not defending Putin, but we said we were not gonna move NATO one inch to the east. We brought it right to their doorstep basically. What did we think Putin was gonna do?"
