Dear government, don’t send startling, high-pitched alerts about wildfires to ordinary people's phones. Send them to the CEOs of fossil fuel companies and make them impossible to switch off until they stop the destructive plunder that's contributing to climate change.

When more negative press coverage is given to a Scottish independence party whose party official stole £400,000 from it than to a right wing Unionist party whose former leader is guilty of raping an 8 yr old child, it tells us the UK press is not holding power to account but protecting it.

I’m focused on delivering for people in Scotland. This week, we will bring forward plans to cut the cost of living, expand childcare and help first-time buyers. And tomorrow, Parliament can back Scotland’s right to hold a referendum on the fresh start of independence. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

A very similar scheme, which was about to start in Scotland, was vetoed by the UK Government. Any Scot STILL not wanting Independence, is soft in the head. Independent Scotland will be one of the Richest Countries in Europe.

If there was a cost of living crisis the Energy Companies, Water Companies, Supermarkets and Banks would be going bankrupt. Instead they are making record profits. If you're not stupid you can work it out.

The arrogance of our putative colonial rulers, liberally doused with petulance and denial, on full view. Scotland will choose our future as an independent nation.

We were told our data would stay under NHS control. But an internal document just revealed the truth: Palantir staff are being granted “unlimited access”. Join us demanding this spy-tech firm gets out of our NHS 👇 goodlaw.social/658abc

According to the UK parties & press, everything is shite due to the SNP, but also no one's interested in indy. Yet the SNP keeps on winning more seats than the anti-indy parties combined, so either the SNP is running Scotland better than we're told, or there really is a wish for indy.

Not to excuse this, & it’s a while since I presented anything on the BBC, but I do recall noting an almost subconscious desire to disprove bogus allegations of bias by being particularly tough on Labour & Lib Dems (Ed Davey once complained!) This is another victory for right wing media gaslighting.

Yessers will be relieved Reform was seen off at constituency level. But their list presence in Holyrood will warp our parly rightwards without a clear restatement of independence purpose. After all Yes won. Reform didn’t. And to the winners, the spoils. www.thenational.scot/politics/260...

Channel 4 News is generally the best of a bad bunch in UK news broadcasting but it was odd in their report on the Scottish and Welsh elections today that they said Plaid and SNP had failed to win majorities but didn't say both countries use PR systems which make majorities almost impossible.

Hello @devolvedelections.bsky.social do I get a physical medal with this or is it just the intense feeling of satisfaction? Beyond chuffed that Ballot Box Scotland, a labour of love hobby project by Some Random Nerd, was more accurate than every single Holyrood MRP. Say it with me: NO MORE MRPs!

Some initial thoughts on the SNP's historic fifth election victory, the record Scottish Green performance, the highest ever pro-indy majority in Holyrood and the gracelessness of the Scottish press who with Labour and the Tories are the big losers. weegingerdug.wordpress.com/2026/05/09/m...

The only question to which Gordon Brown is the correct answer is - "Which lying Prime Minister vowed to Scotland during the indy ref that within 3 years of a No vote the UK would be a federal state and he'd hold the party leaders to it, only to vanish & tell us we should have read the small print?"

From facebook. If we had the same voting system as Westminster we would have 60 SNP 4 tories 4 Lib Dem 2 labour 2 greens. So, when Unionists start talking about majorities it's to muddy the waters. Look at the numbers above and tell me that's not a mandate for a referendum.
