This sort of shenanigan is why I don't have my tv connected to the internet. Even then, I keep a blocklist of all known advertising and metrics servers active on my network. We probably shouldn't have to fight so hard with the appliances we bring into our homes.

I've noticed that whenever I see a news story about something in my area of expertise, it gets about 40% of the facts correct. I try to remember that when I read stories in areas I'm not knowledgeable about.

Man, I have been inundated with password reset emails and notifications that people are trying to get into my websites. I've already got everything updated and secure and I'm a double-and-triple-factor authentication guy so it's all good so far, but what a nuisance!
