Been contracting art/design/video production for MIT for the last year while we cut through a buttload of red tape, but they finally put a ring on me. Ya boy's getting a pension 😌

If you knew what I had to go through the last 16 months from my last job to this one, you would know that I have aged in triple time. I can actually get senior discounts now. I just make-a the pictures, man.

Lotta artists here are 10, 20, year vets, and very supportive, and even with AI stuff happening, my staff is very vocal that they need me. There was an art show here and I share an office with someone who I can bitch about video games and anime with. I'd like to settle down when I hit my 40's

NEW: I spoke with current and former EA employees to understand how the latest layoff round played out and the realities of daily life at the U.S. publisher. The short version? EA is controlled by an executive class that "cannot fail, only be failed." Workers, then, will always pay the price.

What do you mean "Belmont's Curse let's you warp between save points by kneeling" You mean I could've been cutting down on this dogshit map the whole time

Look, enemy Fire Emblem character. When you attack my Flame Lord when he is wielding a levin sword and you die from the counterattack, that’s not on me. I did not make that happen. You have to accept the consequences of your own actions there.

The art director of the New Yorker being an "AI whisperer" should be a red flag for all artists who might work for the New Yorker going forward. The Spiegelman thing is a whole other bummer.

Oh, shit. www.publishersweekly.com/pw/by-topic/...

I looked up what it was he had AI spit out and it was a 9/11 political sticker, and man I'm not the one to broach Art Spiegelman on his decision to use a Fascist Aesthetic App to make art, but someone should

I was really bad until I slapped a big honkin H/S/L layer on the lighting and then it was saved at the 11th hour. I am very stupid.

The cool thing about this age is that anything I'm interested in, the kiddo immediately locks into because literally everything is new to her The bad news is I don't get first crack at new comics anymore :(

I make a point not to force feed my stuff because I grew up with my dad trying to make me a Sport Man long after I decided to be a Picture Man, but much like anime and looney tunes, I think she's just got good taste. She's been fully locked into this Unico reboot. House's dead silent. Spoopy.

Work is having an art show and someone here made a fursuit head of Koromaru from Persona 3. It was on display but he put it on now and people are looking at the bare mannequin like 🤔 while Korochan asks people about their paintings

Ridiculous considering that searching for posts on @bsky.app using literally any word in the English dictionary will yield pics of a big hairy man spreading hole while jorkin it

Looking for a movie or show or gams with a vague amount of buzz? That's a strangled hog. Wanna see meme? That's some raw meat. Typed "penis"? No penis, actually. Just the word "hey"? Get the safety goggles. But yea can't link OF in your profile.

Octopath TTRPG just showed up. 1) I like this priority chart it's neat 2) there's a replay section, ala the kinda stuff that eventually lead to Lodoss War 2.5) the replay is 81 of God's own pages, what the heck lol 3) I like the idea of normalizing a campaign "trailer"/pitch

The the system is very, very lean. Checks are 2D6 check plus stats, BP are bonus D6s you accrue and spend. Your stats come from how you mix and match jobs, gear, and skills. Level cap is five (5). Combined. As in: Primary Job 4, Secondary 1. Or Primary Job 5, no second job.

IMO, a nice, lean system let down by way too many tutorial pages and not enough content (skills, gear, bestiary). However, Fabula Ultima has damn near all the same ideas as Octopath TTRPG and sprints around the world with them. C+ to B depending on # of Octopath fans at the table

This game likes giving you trackers. For a new GM this is nice cause you'll never know what's relevant to track till you're in the thick of it. There are also lots of flowcharts for combat, skill checks, etc., very visual learner friendly.
