Hello new followers! I'm a car-free mom in Berkeley, California. I do graphic design (for money) and housing/mobility advocacy (for free) though sometimes I get paid money to design housing/mobility related things and that's pretty amazing! Here's a few things I designed

It's that time of year again where the cranks are upset about how @nyc-dot.bsky.social keeps growing their wonderful #TrickOrStreets program. But if you're looking for an idea why not be a crank? Easiest costume ever & cheap: hide in the shadows, post lies on social media and hate safety for kids.

NYC is opening 160 car-free (but treat-filled) streets and plazas to enjoy fun and safe fall festivities this spooky season. Find one near you at nyc.gov/trickorstreets.

Ah so that explains the smoke

Berkeley: You may see or smell smoke from a planned prescribed burn on Angel Island today. The burn is planned for mid-week and crews will be monitoring conditions throughout the burn to minimize ground-level smoke impacts. View current air quality: fire.airnow.gov/#11/... berkeleyca.gov/safet...

We've made some big victories in our 10+ years of existence. What's next? Join us in person tomorrow, 6:30pm at Two Pitchers in Oakland (in the Garage around back), for endorsement results and brainstorming on the Next Big Goals we want to organize around!

Last November they dislodged all the parked cars from Hopkins to accommodate the Berkeley Half Marathon. I got to enjoy a psuedo bike lane on Hopkins between Sacramento and California for a couple minutes. The excitement caused me to take positively shit photos of the occasion

AC Transit needs to use its funding on hiring more bus operators - not golden parachutes for top management. Having someone like @valencia4actransit.bsky.social who is both a budget watchdog and a visionary rider advocate would help a lot in turning this bus around! bsky.app/profile/alfr...

Adriana is already doing the work - attending AC Transit board meetings and holding the agency accountable. Let's put her in charge! oaklandside.org/2025/03/24/a...

This is what I see in my head when a self-described "avid cyclist" says they see no need for safe bike infrastructure. Yeah, the current system of hugging the door zone while cars zoom by at 30 mph works for them but not for little kids and seniors.

“[Libby] Lee-Egan…installed a traffic counter at her house that sometimes measures drivers whizzing by at 45 [mph], a dangerous condition for any cyclist or scooter rider pedaling alongside them. ‘If it comes down to safety versus parking, we cannot let parking win,’ [she] said. ‘That’s crazy.”

San Francisco Chronicle@sfchronicle.com

It’s the latest salvo in a battle that’s spanned two mayoral administrations and endured endless rhetoric about the war on cars. And it could result in 100 lost parking spaces in Berkeley.

The absurdity of the Hopkins saga is what radicalized me and got me interested in engaging Berkeley politics in the first place. I’m running for D1 and safe streets is a core priority of mine. Climate, community, public safety and personal health: bike lanes are the way 💪🚲 Rossforberkeley.Com

The Berkeley City Council will vote on whether to provide protected bike lanes on Hopkins Street. What's interesting is that they did already, back in 2022. When that vote happened (which was later derailed), my older daughter was not yet born. She will start TK the week after this vote.

FYI I placed my own order yesterday and bonfire says it'll show up between July 16 and 27. So if you want a shirt before the big Hopkins meeting, order today! I'm selling these shirts very close to at-cost so this is not a side hustle for me. I want bike lanes on my street, not revenue.

2) I discovered that my radical bike lobby shirts can be tie dye. What you choose to do with this information is not my responsibility but I WILL be wearing a tie dye shirt on July 28 www.bonfire.com/store/safety...

Albany’s bike/walk plan was approved by City Council last night w a vote of 4-1, & live public comments about 2-1 in support. The Solano Ave protected bikeway recommendation was retained! 🎉 🎉 🎉 Thank you to everyone who wrote in or made comments live, & to the councilmembers for their support!

Albany's great bike/walk plan update is going to City Council for approval this Monday, July 6. But the plan's Solano Ave protected bikeway recommendation is getting a lot of pushback. Help out by emailing support comments NOW or joining the meeting on Monday! www.tinyurl.com/SolanoStreetscapeFAQ
