The local GOP is making AI slop social media posts that say “vote like it’s 1776” and getting pissy when people point out that there was no voting in 1776.

The 20degree temp drop confirms that the cricket is actually in the house and not just really close to the house. It’s still chirping like mad even though it’s the coldest outside it has been in weeks.

Looking at how ubiquitous the gambling industry is now, why would we expect anyone with the power to do so regulate AI because of potential addiction?

Unless it’s Massachusetts. “bang a left” and “shit the bed” may have entered my personal lexicon, but I kept my R’s firmly where they had always been.

People are making fun of AOC for having a slight southern accent while speaking in Memphis but they clearly don’t know the pain of habitually and unconsciously imitating the speaking style of the people around you

Thomas Paine is my favorite founding father. He was famously abolitionist and one of the earliest voices to point out the hypocrisy of fighting for independence while keeping slaves. He also firmly believed that keeping any friendship which required compromising your morals made you a bad person.

The founder we should talk more about is Thomas Paine, who will fuck your shit up every time. Here he is in The Rights of Man just ripping into any ideas of "originalism" and that kind of garbage.

I thought the life/death status of Mary at the end of her time on Earth was one of those officially unresolved things. Though I’m not an expert, and wouldn’t want to make Assumptions.

Is, is big hair finally getting its comeback?!?! I saw a few young women with what I would describe as *almost* Farrah Faucet hair. Makes me long for the good old days where I spent quality time with my curling iron and Aquanet.

1. I hate the white dress under open graduation gown trend. It’s so boring, especially after the 1000th time you’ve seen it. (I may not be exaggerating. I drive by a popular college grad photo location often. It’s always a white dress. 🥱)

2. I really think tuxes should be worn to prom. It’s a mismatch in the level of formality in dress. Tbh, it looks goofy in pictures when the dresses are floor length formal. And if not a tux, then for love of all that is holy, at least DARK suit.

If the historical inaccuracies are egregious enough, I’m sure the gods of Olympus will let their displeasure be known.

The woke scolds are trying to make this about racism. But Musk is right. It's about historical and scientific integrity. When the God of Thunder disguises himself as a swan to seduce and fuck a queen and the resulting baby hatches from an egg, *of course* the baby will be white. It's just science.

Can’t help but feel that our testing culture in secondary ed greatly reduces learning time. Between AP testing and state graduation requirement tests, my high schoolers are basically done, with almost a month left on the academic calendar.

I spent 3 hours with 10 13yo boys at my son’s birthday party, then I came home to a house smelling of chocolate. When I asked why, my 15 yo daughter said well, tomorrow is Mother’s Day and trailed off and that was all I needed to hear. ♥️
