I cancelled my GoNetSpeed Fiber Optic Internet and it was NOT because of the price. -- But no one would hear that. 1st, no IPv6. You're litterer missing access to 1/2 the internet. 2nd, the close at 5:00 PM. That means most people lose support once they get off work. #GoNetSpeed #ISP #Internet

2/2 The last few agents did NOT know what they were talking about. -- I know because, I have a degree in computer science. I can build my own router and modem. I don't expect people to be as smart, but I do expect them to know what IPv6 is when they work for an ISP. #GoNetSpeed #ISP #Internet

Bonus: Talking over your customer is not good customer service. You ask a question, wait for the answer -- the full answer. Lastly, since the agents were more focused on price, and kept bringing it up, let me say downgrading a service should not cost more. I did not call to downgrade. #GoNetSpeed

$1,000,000,000,000.00 – $2,500,000,000,000.00 on average All that money goes toward Defense Spending, but you're going to tell me we cannot stock up on toilet paper, soap, and basic essentials for people currently deployed in an unjustified conflict? #Navy #MarineCorps #AirForce #Army #SpaceForce

The one thing I do like about the Fediverse is you can easily export and import who you follow and who you block. For example, on GitHub I manage such a list called. It's only a personal list to weed out spam, scams, and other junk. github.com/Fediverse-Ex... Post 1 of 4

Post 4 of 4 It used to be so easy to avoid AI. The only reason they're adding AI to all these GIT Repos is so their AI can learn code. You upload everything and their AI eats it up. So in my efforts to avoid AI, find myself using 3 different GIT repos and in all likelihood all I did was feed AI.

My most controversial statement seems to be: " I oppose genocide and believe in a free and independent Israel, Palestine, and Gaza, and that everyone has the right to exist." That simple, harmless, peaceful statement, which is a positive and uplifting viewpoint, is unfairly hated by so many. 1/2

2/2 Nothing good can be said about a society that has become so deeply polarized that opposing genocide and wishing safety for all human beings is viewed as a controversial take. When empathy is treated as a threat, we have lost our collective moral compass.

You'd think the platform that's cheaper to run (using fewer resources), easier to manage, more feature-rich, and has a longer history would be the top choice in the Fediverse. Logically, it would make sense. And yet people choose the harder path — the costlier one, the one that resembles Twitter. 🤦

No one is coming to save us, because they’re all in on it. The people who should be upholding the Constitution, the law, justice, separation of church and state, and keeping with checks and balances — they’re all in on it. The American people will have to save themselves.

Maybe. Just maybe. Repeatedly telling reporters that American lives don't matter, and that you don't care about people's struggles or how costly everything is getting, while being the President of the United States, was a bad idea. There's a thought, don't you think? #Trump #DonaldTrump #Potus

Congratulations to Donald Trump — you are officially the most targeted president, with the most assassination attempts, in the history of the United States of America. #Trump #DonaldTrump #History #Assassination

I feel like I am scamming Walmart, but I don't mean to do so. I am honest person, but Walmart's new policy seems to be to give me credit for items I'm not even worried about. I'm sure someone else in my position would be happy with "free money", but that's not me. Post 1 of ? #Walmart

Walmart has done two things wrong. 1) The phone support is now using an A.I. and 2) their live agents are in both Egypt and India. Both want to issue me credit for items I have not complained about. Sometimes the A.I. wants me to return the item, that I am lacking. Post 3 of ? #Walmart

What should have been an easy refund on Walmart's part has begone blooming out of control because the agents in Egypt and India, wanting a positive review keep giving me credit and picking random items to marked as refund. I try to explain this, but I only got more credit. Post 4 of 4 #Walmart

I ordered some groceries from Walmart recently using my Walmart Account (my account is 13 years old). My issue was that I received the wrong quantity. The cheese came through normal Walmart+ Delivery and the Whole Grain Millet were shipped. Quality was good, but wrong amount. Post 2 of ? #Walmart

I should not have left Twitter. I had over a million followers. I told myself, I was being morally responsible by joining the Fediverse. Turned out the Fediverse was morally bankrupt supporting scammers, and hating on each other. Now they want to gate keep the place.

I stopped all funding to Mastodon. That upset someone, since my funding of Mastodon was not just a small little contribution, but significant enough that someone reached out. Kind of had my own personal laugh when they realized who I was, but that doesn't change anything. The indifference is real

I rejoined Reddit, and I already have over 1000 followers in less than a week. I find myself, more active there this past week, and as silly as it sounds, I enjoy buying people Reddit Gold every once in a while. I get a little smile when someone does the same. It's meaningless, but amusing.

I’m all for keeping out Nazis — 100% anti-Nazi myself. But the gatekeeping on the Fediverse isn’t just aimed at hateful individuals. Disagree with someone significantly, and you’ll see calls for people to Fedi-block you. You cannot disagree with anyone on anything without it being deeply personal.

The gatekeeping isn't one on one, but you -vs- an administrator. And upsetting an admin means, now your account is hidden from 20,000 people who have no idea what is going on. Completely unaware that they cannot see you. How is that different from Elon Musk?

A few bad-faith actors have made their way into the Fediverse. It was bound to happen eventually. Statistically speaking, there will always be a group of jerks whenever people gather. However, closing registration to everyone or moderating every new account is not a solution. Continues #Fediverse

Continued I remember forum communities. The more effort we put into keeping jerks out, the harder it became for ordinary people to join and participate. Meanwhile, social media made it easy for anyone to jump in. That was the fundamental flaw of forums. History, may repeat itself. #Fediverse

I also recall that ordinary people aren’t going to wait around for you to get out of bed and approve their account. Bad-faith actors, however, most certainly will. Those trolls have no life — or, more accurately, trolling is their life. They have all the time in the world. #Fediverse #Forums

The Fediverse's problem, beyond the scam issue, is how fragmented it is. You're on site "A" but you cannot follow people on site "B" because a long time ago, your admin and their admin got into a fight or disagreement 1x, and now 10,000 cannot communicate with each other. #Fediverse #Mastodon

And the only way I and others are able to overcome that nonsense is to have more than one account. In fact, many 3rd party Mastodon or Misskey Apps allow you to sign in to multiple accounts specifically for this reason. #Fediverse #Mastodon #Misskey

Telling people I worked for Meta (Facebook) was absolutely celebrated, as I warned people about the evil things we (the company) was doing. But when I warned people about the scammers, who I knew were sneaking onto the Fediverse -- Suddenly me working for Meta was a bad thing. #Fediverse #Meta

If you do plan on joining the Fediverse, pick an Asian site. I have newfound respect for Fediverse instances in Asia. As long as you have proof — photos, videos, credible reference material — it should be allowed, no matter how unpopular it may be. 💜

I also have a new-found respect for some corporations. -- I know, I know, that's crazy talk, right? Mr or Mrs Nobody, is going to be more anal and picky about anything you say or do. But the corporation ironically, so long as you're not posting hate speech, is going to mostly leave you alone.

... continued ... I have no doubt that they're harvesting my data, but I can call a spade a spade, so long as I'm not making it my everyday mission to do so. Calling out scammers on either an Asian site, or Corporate site yields better results.

Why don't you create your own Fedi site? Why on earth would I do that? Seriously — so I can waste my time and money building a website just so one administrator with a grudge can low-key block me from 5,000+ people who might actually appreciate what I have to say?

I joined the Fediverse on May 30, 2023, and have collectively donated over €4,800. So, I am neither a freeloader nor a mooch — but I’m also not foolish enough (though I can be sometimes) to create my own isolated platform. However, I will gladly support someone else in doing so.

How do I know all this? Because during 2020–2022, when most people were dealing with the pandemic, job layoffs, cutbacks, and a recession, I was helping others. I learned a lot and discovered just how easy it is to help a stranger. 💜
