Happy 6 years tomorrow.
I was not patient, with good control over my anger and impulses before my 🧠 got smushed by a tumor, head cut open and 🧠 smushed aside further by retractors. I had to deal with neighbors today and was very unpleasant about their deck full of dog waste.

First hand knit 🧶 socks in 19 years.
Only done foot wear a few times, 2 house socks in heavier yarn and some little slippers. Never proper tiny stitch ones.
My pinkies hate US1 DPNs they want to hold onto something that isn't there.
Seeking a circular set in xs sizes.
#WIPWednesday#knitsky
Heel flap done!
New tiny circs in play. New sock blockers too. Old were so old dry they cracked. But, I saved money by using yarn in stash and making my own socks. 🤣🤣🤣
I'm calling it a biz expense. Learning how to build socks. Winter is vanishing so patterns with thinner yarns are a new focus.
I finished A sock 🥳 Number 2 going on needles today.
Next pairs will be two at a time!
Made many mistakes. Lost many tiny tight sts during pick up after rip back, so add'l rounds needed to be tinked. Became frustrated, let sit for many days.
The next 🧦 will be faster!

I'm organizing my Ravelry faves list 🧶 thinning sorting and tagging so I can find what I'm looking for. It's been a long time since I've done it and I rarely do it as I add.

A favorite hat for #showmeyourknits#knitting#knitsky 🧶
I like twisted stitches, they always give great definition. Just showing off the shawl - close color, same base stitch, so why not?

Zhuzhing up some sock blockers 🧶🧦
They were plain unfinished wood, very light very snaggy.
They got a little too orange, the wood was very thirsty and I went too heavy on the red dye stain.
Maybe fill the 🐝 and a few hexes with honey colored resin?

This is cool, the blurred edges are very pleasing. Post has led me down the rabbit hole of ikat weaving. The Philippine version

This rinzu silk kimono demonstrates a sophisticated reinterpretation of traditional Japanese textile techniques through modern silkscreen printing, creating faux kasuri patterns that mimic the irregular, feathered edges characteristic of ikat weaving. Early Showa period (1926-1940), Japan
Not much progress on my modded Milo socks. Had to pull back the heel flap + 2 rounds of leg cables because I misplaced the discontinue cable decreases. I followed as written directions instead of for my modded layout 🤦♀️. looking like a sock now though

Every time I see the LooseThreadStitchery in my feed I'm so in awe. I also fight my immediate urge to start a new craft obsession. Such incredible work!

My own design in progress of wiggly columns. I had to pare down the short rows stacks again, as much as able to still maintain the wiggle ruffles. As they were they used way too much yarn. More than dense cabling even.
While listening to council meetings in Montreal, local mayor Sue Montgomery decided to knit in red when men spoke and in green when women spoke, when similar numbers of both attended.

I'm suddenly craving macarons and petit fours...
My own pattern not yet available for sale.
Yarn is Malabrigo Arroyo Natural and Mecha Diana.

I finally did the knitted string lights... next time would work larger gauge (too dense!) and single color lights on plastic coated wire. This has all colors + 15 light patterns. 5 wee wires between and kinks and contacts glitched a bunch of sequences.

Reposting an older release.
I tend to only post once, but I really love this pattern.
I just pulled out the sample to wear myself as we have finally gotten some chilly nights.

A squiggly swatch. Some stacked short rows piled in alternating directions.
I have my stitch and squiggle widths and depths settled and have the perfect yarn in stash! This splashy bright greens will look fantastic I'll def be calling it Inchworm.
This will be fun!

Some progress in the splashy green.
I love this, the color effect is just how I hoped.
Now I want one in jumbo one column wide.

So I had to try it in giant yarn 🧶
It's a lot of fabric so it's heavy - as in drags downward when sideways (as it will be when worn). A fun tangential experiment.
If I were to make it as a design I'd rework for fewer stitches and less overlap 'slalom' for less fabric and wider idk - tubing?

Some of you may not know, but my career really took off in April 2020 when I started offering commissions. The main feature was Nebula Teapots. Sometimes it really hits the spot to have the singular focus of creating a painterly nebula on pottery ☺️
