Do they have jobs, JD? You sure about that?

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Q: Why shouldn't Alaskans find it insulting that the administration is suggesting they can't read the word 'incumbent' on their ballot and know to vote for Sen. Sullivan? JD VANCE: People are busy. People have lives. People have jobs.

Godspeed to the economist because as recently as this Monday I’m still fighting with people telling me I don’t understand inflation. I mean people show up at places to yell at me over it. 🤷🏾‍♀️

I think this explains in the language of econ what @tressiemcphd.bsky.social has been arguing in the language of sociology, but which many people deny because it doesn't show up in the charts. People grasp how vulnerable they are to life's vagaries, even if the lexicon they use is affordability.

In a story that's built on questions of Giuliiani's credibility vs. Mamdani's, the New York Times should have pointed out that Giuliani has been disbarred in both Washington, DC, and New York.
