Really enjoying listening to a book by Noah Kagan at the moment. He says: desensitise yourself to the pain by repeatedly exposing yourself to it. Embrace it, actively seek it out and use it as your compass.

The first thing I did this evening was make an illustration of something new I learned today with the help of DALL-E & Canva. Starting to get why “weird” gets used in relation to me but boy do I dislike that word. Anyway, here’s a whimsical weasel puffing out some weasel words from a pipe.

Came up with a new RPG in my dreams where I could see this translucent digital dashboard in the foreground of my vision where one of its sections showed how many powers you had collected and one of mine was emitting a flame from each fingertip so this cheese thing clearly does wonders for creativity

Love this quote by Richard Rumelt: “If you fail to identify and analyze the obstacles, you don’t have a strategy. Instead, you have either a stretch goal, a budget, or a list of things you wish would happen.”

Eva Wiseman knocking it out of the park again 🏌️‍♀️. The world has changed — what are the benefits of going back to working culture of the 2010s?!

What if bosses had learned one single lesson from the pandemic? A column on the end of ‘wfh’ www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle...

Getting people back into the office doesn’t necessarily improve “company culture” or “productivity” (often actually does the opposite) and I just find it so lazy that businesses see one company ask everyone to go back to the office 5 days a week and they all follow.

Ultimately Eva’s conclusion is so on the nose: this reversion to past habits is about power and control. Fostering a working environment that is more about care, encouragement and ultimately trust is more likely to lead to innovation, creativity and productivity.

So many businesses (and artists/creators/talent) are under mounting pressure to promote themselves and their work so consistently with such little support or resource. I can genuinely see how tools such as this could potentially fill a huge resource gap in terms of online communication.

It can feel frustrating when people think marketing is just pressing publish on a social media post. But one of the most satisfying things is seeing the realisation hit someone that marketing is so much more than that. (Baker, 2013)

The best bit about getting older is that the feeling that you’ve not got time to be messing around — and just need to crack on with doing big exciting/scary things — gets louder and impossible to ignore.

Some notes: ☀️Decision makers have feelings too! Appeal to their emotions ☀️Keep repeating the message in different ways for each person involved in buying decision. IT head will want to see it framed differently to the CEO, to the creative, etc This stuff all seems obvious but so easy to forget

And I liked this analogy of tweaking the way that you show up on each social channel a little differently although the core of brand personality remains the same: how you are at work is different to how you are with you’re friends but you’re fundamentally the same person.
