1. The name Bluesky was originally a placeholder for the project started by Twitter to build an open social protocol. Purely by coincidence, my mother gave me the name Lantian, which translates to "blue sky."

My friends on the *other platform* have been reluctant to leave stating that your app wasn’t intended to turn a profit and thus fail. A cosmetic feature model for micro transactions is something I would be interested in (like Discord). How do you plan to profit long-term?

Rather than only join Bluesky, it's important that all the new users also simultaneously delete their X accounts. I understand why some don't or haven't yet, but to have the desired effect, one must do both - join Bluesky and delete X.

A few reasons for using BlueSky: 1) Not owned by Dark MAGA and the Russians. 2) Unbiased - avoid a liar like Musk access to manipulate 3) It's UI is really nice - close to Twitter but better 4) Very fast 5) Longer free posts ... and so much more ...

Once I read about the story of “bluesky” and what you guys did to bring it to us- the audience that likes to use social media but that is fed up of the new fascist era and how it’s reflecting on most social media platforms. The CEO, Ms. Jay Graber, is a 2013 Grad of the U of PA, with a BS in "Science, Technology and Society". She has a Chinese Mom and a Dad of Swiss Descent. Her original Chinese first name is "Lantian", which is Mandarin for --- you guessed it --- Blue Sky! I think that is so cooool !

When X monetized posting engagement farming became a problem. It took me a while to under that posts with "What's missing?" or "You'll never believe what happened next" weren't actual questions. They were just ways to waste time, farm engagement, and make the poster some money. We don't need that.

Unless the democrats have a platform like Truth Social that is dominated by one person that is a strong representative for the Democratic Party, we will continue to be multiple voices with many versions of the truth. We need to find a way to unite around someone or we will not have a chance in 2 yrs

We'd all love that, but the enshittification cycle goes: create great online service with investor $ > get lots of users > monetise by ads &/or charging to pay back investors > increase revenue by cutting staff & making the service worse.
