in 2000, there were 470 billionaires. in 2010, the number had more than doubled, to 1000 billionaires total. together, they controlled around $3.6 trillion in capital. for power and wealth like this, politics is less than pocket change: www.webworm.co/elections/

Why yes that *is* @nomansbsky.bsky.social running in VR on an MacBook M4 Max through a project where I reverse engineered the Meta Quest headset protocols... Months of work to get this far. Running in Wine for VR support, so around 35-40fps vs 70fps for desktop wine (high), 100fps native (ultra)

Bevy 0.20 is out now! It features Solari and DLSS improvements, better BSN syntax, BSN "ready" events, WESL is now Bevy's shader language, more UI widgets (color picker, scrollable list views, dropdowns), Sprite Materials, Extended 2D materials, Pan Orbit Camera, and more! bevy.org/news/bevy-0-...

bevy.orgBevy 0.20Thanks to 227 contributors, 817 pull requests, community reviewers, and our generous donors, we're happy to announce the Bevy 0.20 release on crates.i…

They live in a country where school shootings is now an industry. Shooting. Kids. Has. Been. Industrialised.

Reverse engineered the Reality Otter scanner (and Raptor Pro). Not bad for something I've had to learn on the fly. stream from USB -> depth matcher on GPU to get clean depths, then rectify + add colour in to a 0.2mm voxel sized TSDF.. I didn't expect a very good capture but this looks damned good!

It still blows my mind that these exist. Like... Hey how about a shark, But with a swordface, And teeth lining the edge instead of a sharp edge You know, like a chainsaw

And not race around the lounge freaking out while puking

If I could say one sentence to cats and make them understand it, it would probably be "If you are going to puke, please do it on a hard surface."

Wondering how MachineGames’ incredible free episode Dawn of the Machine was made to celebrate 30 years of Quake? Check out this behind-the-scenes look from Lead Level Designer Andrew Yoder: beth.games/3SzYxVm

Fuck the USA.

The tiny and quick drones are being deployed in an increasing number of school districts – part of a growing school security industry as parents and schools find new ways to protect students and staff from carnage. https://cnn.it/4qDiszA

3 weeks of hacking and reverse engineering and wiresharking has finally netted me complete access to the Meta Quest Air-Link and USB link. No more ALVR. And! I’ve proved a MacBook can run VR pretty damned well since it has hardware HEVC and H264 encoding. I’ll release sometime after cleanup

This thing is fucking hideous. Not cybertruck level but I certainly wouldn’t call it a Ferrari. Bet you have to flip it over to plug in the charger cable.

AppleInsider@appleinsider.com

The first Ferrari Luce off the production line has sold for big money, with the Jony Ive-connected vehicle fetching a staggering $40 million at auction.

LOL. Meta engineers made a typo in the Meta Quest headset libs. MetadataHandahakeCapabilities... I now have I think 90% of this reverse engineered now. Got the headset doing auth and pair over USB, and streaming the pose etc, accepting streamed video.

Almost thought someone had hacked my iCloud and stolen a photo of me.

adonis (and cait)@cait.bsky.social

if you had told me many years ago that I would be lucky enough to wake up to this every single morning, and that I would get to be this happy, I wouldn't have believed you

3am and I’ve blown the Meta Quest 3 wide open with reverse engineering to get PCVR link working on MacOS with openxr native and in wine. Full auth and pairing over usb done. Wifi next up. Over 300 different commands to map but should be angle to get away with a subset.

I’ve still got to finish the 3D scanner reverse engineering too. Got the IR Otter scanner mostly done. Great little device that. On to the Raptor Pro now with its lasers.

L.O.L. I could have done this myself but setting an LLM on to it means I can continue doing my own work while this guy does hip thrusts at disassembly.

Side effects of being medicated for ADHD is that some of my hobbies no longer hold any interest for me. So I now have a stack of very cool RC buggies I don’t drive anymore. And I barely game now. Just highly focused on my actual work instead.

Fucking aye. I’ve spent the last couple years redecorating my house away from boomer grey and pastel snot green.

Jack Saint@lackingsaint.bsky.social

No fuck off we're not calling this "Millennial grey" this shit was dictated completely by boomer retiree house flippers we absolutely had NO say in this

No I didn't just do a CAT scan at 1.30am why do you ask? Reverse engineered the majority of reality scan app and the entire USB protocol plus the depth GPU kernels.. Fuck all is hidden if you try hard enough, and an LLM alongside is a massive boost 6 months of work in a week.
