I kinda remember when things were slightly okay. I love horror movies, cooking, reading, and sass. 🍁

23rd Book of 2026 Intercepts - T.J. Payne A creepy sci-fi horror with a great premise but a sometimes clunky execution. Certainly entertaining, and the story hooked me, but it didn't live up to the hype. #booksky πŸ’™πŸ“š #horror

22nd Book of 2026 Brother - Ania Ahlborn This was what I kicked off my October reading with and damn, it knocked me on my ass. One of the darkest and brutal horror novels I've read in a long while. Great, edge-of-your-seat story, but it won't be for everyone. #booksky πŸ’™πŸ“š #horror

21st Book of 2026 Circe - Madeline Miller I didn't read this for years thinking it was something it wasn't. Turns out, I was an idiot. Fierce Gods, powerful magic, timeless myths, all wrapped up with the most gorgeous prose and captivating dialogue. Absolutely loved it. #booksky πŸ’™πŸ“š #fantasy

20th Book of 2026 Hidden Pictures - Jason Rekulak Honestly, a really fun 'can't-put-it-down-until-I-know-what-happens' read. The flawed protagonist, the set-up, & suspense were all wonderful. A little silly, a little off the rails by the end, but damn entertaining. #booksky πŸ’™πŸ“š #thriller

19th Book of 2026 Lost in the Dark and Other Excursions - John Langan A wonderful collection of dark, atmospheric short stories, even if they didn't always land for me. 'Haak' was my favourite, but almost every tale has an inventive approach to the storytelling. #booksky πŸ’™πŸ“š #horror

18th Book of 2026 Hyperion - Dan Simmons An absolute masterpiece of science fiction. I've wanted to pick this up for ages, and I wish I had sooner. Each unforgettable tale shines with its own style, all brimming with mystery and rich prose. Can't wait to pick up the 2nd novel. #booksky πŸ’™πŸ“š

17th Book of 2026 The Shrinking Man - Richard Matheson For such a simple premise this novel really does a bit of everything; drama, horror, adventure, humour, despair, triumph. Really great stuff. #booksky πŸ’™πŸ“š

16th Book of 2026 Small Things Like These - Claire Keegan No surprise, but Keegan's writing is nothing short of magic. An entire, vivid world somehow condensed to a little over a hundred pages. Truly beautiful. #booksky πŸ’™πŸ“š

15th Book of 2026 Disappearance at Devil's Rock - Paul Tremblay Sorry to say I found this to be a bit of a snooze. Every time I thought the story was ramping up to something it circled back to the same beats over and over. #booksky πŸ’™πŸ“š #horror

14th Book of 2026 Project Hail Mary - Andy Weir Fantastic book that lived up to the hype. Even loved it more than The Martian. Genuinely exciting, funny, and heartfelt. Hard to imagine anyone not enjoying this. #booksky πŸ’™πŸ“š

13th Book of 2026 The Third Rule of Time Travel - Philip Fracassi A nice little blend of science fiction and horror, definitely a page-turner. Had at least one "Oh damn" moment. #booksky πŸ’™πŸ“š

12th Book of 2026 Bat Eater and Other Names for Cora Zeng by Kylie Lee Baker This novel wastes no time getting to the horror but lost some momentum as it went. Still would recommend to anyone looking for something shocking and strange for October. #booksky πŸ’™πŸ“š

I'm way behind on logging my reading this year. Let's go! 11th Book of 2026: If Anyone Builds It, Everyone Dies by Eliezer Yudkowsky & Nate Soares The details about the creation of AI was fascinating, but the extrapolation of what may happen felt fantastical with little basis in fact. #booksky

So psyched for this spooky movie that takes place on #Halloween night and it drops.... on Remembrance Day. What.

Netflix, why are you teasing me with #horror movies that you plan to make available in November? You got some great Christmas movies lined up for mid March? You doorknobs.

Love how everyone runs to buy a lottery ticket when the jackpot hits a record high. Like, 'oh shit, my slim chance just got slimmer! Where's my wallet? I don't play for anything less than 40 mill.'

I hate how every election turns into this excessive nonsense. Hey dickhead! Do you think the person with the most signs per square mile gets elected? Grow up. The only thing you're qualified to do is make garbage.

I hate when a company tries to do "fun" things to boost morale & show employee appreciation and all they got is Crazy Hair Day, Pajama Day, etc. That's middle school shit. We're adults. Give us more money.

God, grant me the courage to change the things I can and incredible new powers to change the things I can't.

In addition to warning labels on food like "High in Sugars" and "High in Saturated Fats", I think Health Canada should include labels like "Wicked Delicious" and "Hits the Spot". Let's hear both sides.
