National has funnelled $2.4 billion of a total $3b increase to the private sector through its term - that's 80% of all its increased healthcare funding allocation. I've written at length on this topic and again today Privatisation kills - no more greater than in healthcare - reason NSW banned it

Trying to figure out how to set this as an Auto Response in Slack if somebody tags me after hours

Coffee machine on train died just before I could order something. Another 2 hours before I'm in the office.

My pal Danielle Koenig shared that her father Walter Koenig passed away last night at age 90. A performer whose kindness and warmth shone through the screen. He will be well remembered.

Packing bag for trip to office in Welly tomorrow. Checks forecast to determine what layers are needed. Sigh

Went with A in the end.

One of my chores this morning is hanging three pictures in my office. They are different sizes. Should I align by the top (A), the middle (B), or the bottom (C)

One of the best things about sitting on the back deck chilling at the end of the day/dusk is watching the pīwakawaka ducking and diving nomming the gnats and other bugs.

Last day! NZ National restricted general roll voting regulations for the first time in 40 yrs To reporters please don’t repeat spin- the change won’t speed up counting - And let’s not shrug & say just 2% fewer voters enrolled It’s 300,000 NZers prevented from voting That’s an entire NZ town

It never fails to amaze me how so many high-end Audis pass their Warrant of Fitness with non-functional indicators.

Saw this from @qi.com elsewhere but can't see it posted here. Compound swearwords, like ‘shitgibbon’, work best when the second word is a two-syllable word where the first syllable is stressed and contains the same vowel as the swearword. This is why ‘cock-womble’ works but ‘dick-womble’ does not.

Exploitation code for PHP RCE vulnerabilities CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619 AKA #php2shell is now public. Patches seem not to be currently available from PHP. Versions 5, 6, 7, & 8 are impacted. Currently supported is PHP 8. CERT Eu recommends isolating internet-facing infra until patched.
