"Ohio Republican gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy not only proudly took credit for a vile attack ad against his Democratic opponent Amy Acton, but he actually doubled down on it—saying his campaign will spend $4 million to air it throughout the state." Vivek Ramasmarmy, indeed.

www.theguardian.com/world/2026/o... “[Macron] criticised what he called ‘factious groups from the ultra-left, joined by numerous delinquents’.” Why is the conclusion always that it’s the “ultra-left”? The violence could just as readily, perhaps moreso, been from the “ultra-right”. Eh?

theguardian.comMacron criticises ‘unbridled violence’ after days of unrest and 2,000 arrests across FranceMinisters, officials and police under pressure over response to protests as government holds crisis talks amid ‘colossal failure of the state’

Brennan Center: “Early voting eliminates most of the threats voters apprehend ahead of an election, … ‘The earlier they vote, the more secure they can feel that their vote is going to count, and I think that’s a really important message for us to be delivering to people.’”

Meta just settled the lawsuit (which has been in trial for just about a week) for “up to $17 billion” - with a B. Some group (with $) should post all the available discovery, the Plt. witness list, and the transcripts of testimony to date. There’s gotta be some dynamite evidence of harm.

“bloviation” - “blowing hot air to sound important or impressive.” Usually a fear response (like bullfrogs—“take in huge gulps of air to inflate their frames, combining size increase with a loud, aggressive call or squeal”) Yeah, that makes sense.

www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026... Can anyone explain what a US sanction against the ICC actually means? We don’t fund them. We’re not a signatory. There is no parent organization. So WTF?

And the water in the Reflecting Pool is crystal clear. The only thing that’s crystal clear is that no one at the top of our government is capable of telling the truth. The question is, how do any of them—or most Republicans in Congress—stand up? They have no spines.

The Bulwark@thebulwark.com

Vance: "The Straits are now open. The Iranian military is now destroyed." Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz again this morning.

“I don't really understand these things.” Well, he is telling the truth. There’s that. And this is who Trump chooses to negotiate with…anyone?

The Bulwark@thebulwark.com

Fox: Do you expect to go to Switzerland? Vance: "I expect I will leave sometime in the next couple of days, but it's always a delicate coordination dance with diplomatic protocols…I don't really understand these things. I've never been particularly into diplomatic protocols."

Gov. Walz on the Reflecting Pool fiasco: “Found an imaginary problem, said only they could fix it, didn’t listen to experts, hired buddies who grifted millions, failed miserably, bragged how great it went. The entire Trump presidency in a nutshell.” He’s destroying our capitol, as our democracy.

It’s not by accident that so many of the photos on the UFC event frame the stage with the White House backdrop, rather than showing “the Claw”, which the vast no. of Americans polled despise.

maybe this is widely known, but I only learned it when were in Japan: every Japanese school child starts the day by coming into school 45 minutes before school stars and cleaning the whole building together.

After Japan battled the Netherlands to a 2-2 draw, the Japanese fans stayed behind and cleaned up every single piece of trash from their section at Dallas Stadium after the game. You LOVE to see it 🇯🇵 #WorldCup #Football #Soccer #RG3 #Love #sports #RGIII #RobertGriffinIII #Japan #Discipline

Oh, and relatedly--all the resistance we're seeing to data centers? That's not China's doing. Real Americans just actually really don't like this! www.wired.com/story/china-...

wired.comChina Didn’t Make Americans Hate Data CentersGOP lawmakers, tech investors, and even OpenAI have tied the anti-data-center movement in the US to Chinese interference. Experts say it’s much more complicated than that.

If election integrity is such an urgent concern, why is Trump’s Justice Department reportedly dismantling some of the very systems designed to monitor it?

Private prison company GEO Group, which runs Delaney Hall, gave $1M+ to Trump's Super PAC in 2024 and his inauguration in 2025. Not only has Trump since rewarded GEO with billions in ICE contracts, but a top former GEO executive has now been named acting ICE director. Cashing in on cruelty.

Taxpayers bleed between $132,000 and $197,000 every single day to fund the private cages at Delaney Hall. When public funds turn a profit for private prison corporations, human suffering becomes a highly lucrative business model. We break down the math behind this wealth-extraction machine. (1/10)

To see how important US science is, consider measurements of changes in ocean heat content. US data are ~53% of the total. Over half! But removing the US data is worse than randomly removing 80% of the total data, because unlike other countries, the US makes measurements everywhere. 🧪🌊

I appreciate the effort of my senator but the fact that this country allows for-profit concentration camps is beyond comprehension. It’s evil on steroids. It’s on a par with pedophilia and its coverup, ignoring the consequences of climate change and stealing from a cancer charity.

How we beat back the corporate takeover of America: 1. Break up corporate monopolies 2. Continue building union power 3. End Citizens United and get big money out of politics Let’s keep working to unrig the system.

In six months, Hamawy has gone from a political nobody to, deemed by most measures, the frontrunner in a crowded race…. His work history has driven him to call for Medicare for All, advocating for sanctions and an arms embargo on Israel, and the abolition of ICE –
