Feeling like I'm at a crossroads in life. After years doing B2B customer service, I want to take a leap and study something so I can pivot careers. The problem is I have about 3 solid interests and it's hard to tell which of these to pursue.

It can either be mechatronics (mechanical engineering + electronics), drawing/illustration or voice acting. Leaning towards doing a course and then applying for jobs, but I'm so scared of making the wrong choice.

A RED STAR SHINES OVER BRAZIL! Lula is reelected! Brazilians managed to mobilize and beat Bolsonaro, Trump, Meta, Google, Netanyahu, media oligarchs, corrupt judges, fascism, imperialism, apathy and hatred! May this victory bring hope to all our comrades fighting across the world! We can beat them

On this day in 1999, Cartoon Network aired a 24-hour Scooby-Doo marathon for Halloween. The marathon was filled with little clips between episodes parodying THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT which had been released in theaters just a few a few months earlier. Link below for the first 12hs of the marathon.

@valvesoftware.com This week's Next Fest is most disappointing. I struggle to find games and, of the few that catch my eye, I suspect most are using some form of Gen AI but don't disclose it. I don't mind devs using AI to make their games, but I wish I could filter that content out in Steam.

In 2011 I was fortunate enough to attend E3 and at the Nintendo booth they were handing out these AR cards that you could scan with the 3DS camera. I just found photos of the images in an old SD card while trying to find old photos.

Hi, everyone! I'm still working hard on the Katana ZERO DLC. We made it bigger. It's the size of a full sequel, plus a soundtrack of over 30+ new songs. More updates to come. Thanks for your continued support!

The video games industry is living in its own version of Get Out. A bunch of mostly greedy white corporate assholes want to profit off of games without actually caring about how the games get made or who makes them.

Ok, but raise your hand if you saw it coming? The Saudi PIF acquires EA and less than 3 months later one of the studios making games with queer representation is now gone.

On my last day on vacation, I will give this a watch.

41 years ago today* the Nintendo Entertainment System was introduced, in a wild, risky, and completely unlikely way. If you haven't seen our documentary yet, put aside 45 minutes and see the NES as you never have before. *We can't substantiate this date, It's Complicated but probably correct(ish)

Haha the current PS5 is the defacto console we're all playing GTA6 on, the same console Sony seems to think we won't be playing in 2030 because they're super convinced the ~$1500 PS6 is something that will actually make them money. In what reality are they living?

You can’t even comprehend how important Eien ni Hen’s work is to the fan translation community. Romancing SaGa, Fire Emblem, Sakura Wars, Tear Ring Saga, Glory of Heracles, Dragon Force II, Dark Half, Beyond Oasis, Psi-O-Blade, Arabian Nights, and so much more. What a loss. Rest in peace.

In memory of the translator, Eien ni Hen. May she rest in peace.

Some ppl bout to learn the hard way and I can't wait to watch.

I'm telling you, y'all need to stop taking shots at game devs. Half the industry is out of work. Devs can clapback now that they're not under those contracts that kept them from telling you how dumb you sound.

Holy shit.

As a long, long, long, long, long time Converse buyer, I will never buy a Converse product ever again. I am sick of the virtue signalling to racists. I see this and I see a man hanged, a white robe that could be a klansman's robe and light shaped like a KKK hat. What the actual hell!?!

Metroid Ravenous feels like Nintendo finding that sweet spot that Capcom has been hitting lately: smaller team, shorter production cycle, great presentation of a known franchise with an established gameplay loop. It's still AAA, but focued on what works while adding something new.

The first episode of Lanterns was awesome. People calling its ending disrespectful clearly either haven't watched enough good TV or don't know what they're getting into with a Lindelof-written show.

You know that feeling when you have to carry something on you, even though you don't particularly like it, because you're holding it safe for someone? Yeah. This book right here. These are the musings of a well-read and highly educated house n*gga.

I wake up to read about gaming outlets in the US and I think about all the great reporting that just gets lost due to language. It's like audiences outside of the English language don't exist, even in this era of globalization.

I read and listened here and there to people I admire in journalism talk about how they saw it as unfair that their reporting could be easily ripped from their respective blogs and just shared across the internet with no royalties for their investigative work. That this was "the way it was".

I dunno, I'm out here writing a measly 2 posts a week while I try to juggle a 9 to 5, a move and a baby on the way. Oh and my outlet caters to Spanish readers only. Feels like I'm playing the wrong game with the wrong tools at that.

Baffling to me how there aren't divisions at these companies trying to reach out to readers in Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, French or German languages. They already produce the wealth of information from which we all try to make a living.
