Metacheck is now hosted by Surf! This offers us the possibility to offer an all in one online solution. Before we advertise this more, we would love to trial the new tool with data managers and editors of Diamond open access journals who want to try out automated checks. Especially of data and code.

About to start the IV meeting of scientific and academic professional publishers. This year's session is "Editorial intelligence: optimization and practical tools for open science"

During the first session we discussed the status of the PEPA project, the role of editors in metadata workflows, and Crossref latest developments that decrease technical and financial barriers.

The second session was about the ways LLM tools help and transform editorial processes, but mostly how editors can become supervisors of agents taking care of traditional tasks 🙄😮‍💨

Journals should stop offering to store supplemental information. Everything that is shared with a paper should have it's own DOI, and live in a proper repository. As authors, link to files (e.g., Zenodo), but never add them as supplemental files.
