Interesting dynamic at play right now. NFL owners are uniquely powerful in the national media ecosphere -- each has 1/32nd influence on any TV deal. But the discrepancy of national coverage for an owner in trouble vs. anybody else in a similar situation becomes immensely clear.

Also, it does not matter if Russ Vought is against DEI policies, if Congress has instructed NIH take to into account health disparities in an assessment of a grant. An executive order cannot overcome a formal statement by Congress. Somebody needs to point that out to him.

TINA SMITH: Researchers in MN made a breakthrough in childhood cancer in Black kids with a grant. But it seems that according to your proposed rule, this type of research wouldn't allowed bc it's 'DEI.' VOUGHT: We are against DEI policies. We have intended to rid of them whenever we possibly can.

When marginalized people are rapidly losing rights, media is being taken over by authoritarian governments, and there are multiple factors forcing people (including children) into isolation, attacking our ability to use the internet and speak freely on it is a clear attempt to stifle resistance

Hearing the head of the WHCA—who just days ago participated in a Paramount dinner “honoring” Trump— say tonight that the First Amendment is “fragile” because of a random shooter rather than because of the president sitting next to her on the podium is, I guess, exactly as pathetic as you’d expect.
