We have courts to make sure that government doesn’t lie to its people. Officials can’t just claim something without having evidence to back it up. This is why we have to defend the judiciary’s Constitutional role! Sign at Lawyers4theRuleofLaw.com! #HonorYourOath www.politico.com/news/2025/05...

Rogue, radical judges indeed! The ruling "by Judge Rodriguez, A PRESIDENT TRUMP APPOINTEE, amounted to a . . . rejection of the White House’s attempts to transpose the Alien Enemies Act, passed in 1798 [while the US] was threatened by war with France, into . . . modern-day immigration policy."

"At one point, [the judge] posed a hypothetical question about whether the president — upset with northerners taking up residence in sunny Florida where he has a home — could declare their presence an invasion. . . he asked, 'Is there just never any judicial review?'" apnews.com/article/immi...

This means that there are now freezes on removals under the Alien Enemies Act in the Northern, Southern, and Western Districts of Texas (and the District of Colorado and the Southern District of New York, etc.) There’s still bad case-specific behavior. But mass, summary removals as a policy is off.
BUT THERE'S MORE: After declaring that both the wife and husband are not in Tren de Aragua and must be released, Judge Briones SPONTANEOUSLY (without being asked) issued an injunction blocking the use of the Alien Enemies Act to deport anyone in the Western District of Texas without 21 days notice!

Last night, a federal judge in El Paso became the first to review ICE’s claim that someone was an “alien enemy.” It went SO BAD for ICE that not only did the judge order release for the people suing, without prompting he restricted the use of the Alien Enemies Act in west Texas.
NEW: In a SCATHING decision, Judge Briones of the Western District of Texas absolutely SAVAGED the government over this case, tearing to shreds ICE’s hearsay “evidence” that this husband and wife were in Tren de Aragua as “completely and wholly unsubstantiated” — and ordered their immediate release!

UPDATE: Remember this case, where a federal judge savaged the Trump administration's "evidence" that a woman was in Tren de Aragua? Well, last week the Trump administration arrested her and her husband for the THIRD TIME — and now they say they'll use the Alien Enemies Act on them!
Lawyers: Don't Stay Silent about Trump's violating federal court orders. Go to Lawyers4theRuleofLaw.com and commit to resisting his court defiance.
