"Something that no one should have trouble seeing, however, is my four credible rape accusations, for which I was only investigated by my employer, who said I didn't rape anybody. So there."

Dumb bitch alert

Sandy Hendry@sandyhendry.bsky.social

Martin Luther King was much more successful than Malcolm X for example. Before that, there was no need for a bloody civil war in most countries that abolished slavery. Just votes. Independence can also be bloodless. Gandhi in India, Walesa in Poland, Mandela in South Africa. The list is long.

No disrespect, but the reason we don't get stories about parents cutting off their children is because those children aren't opinion columnists. Like, really not trying to be an asshole, but being stuck at this first step of this convo for the past decade is so fucking tedious.

"I'm 15 years old and I just got kicked out of my parent's house for being trans. I have no friends and something 20 guys at school want to kill me. My real problem though is I've got 1000 words on toxic family dynamics due at the NYT by Friday and I don't know what to talk about."

Repost if $30k would change your life right now

Matt Darling@besttrousers.bsky.social

I don't think $30k is a life-changing amount of money. Median American born in 1980 will have $2m in income in their lifetime. It's a 1% increase in earnings.

Only saying this in a demonstrative way, a big reason why only the bad people get what they want in this world is they don't tie each other down in philosophical arguments about whether or not it's bad to get what you want.

Appeals to copyright as a rationale for AI being forever tainted are just so pathetic. Like, I'm sorry, I thought grownups agreed that copyright is a tool for corps to bully artists around when Zara was looting designs wholesale. Or maybe people just don't appreciate small artists

"we must maintain perfect morality throughout the revolution" Hey man, did you know that our kids will likely be the last generation to remember the concept of winter if we don't destroy these fuckers immediately

The Simpsons "goods and services" meme, but for getting leftists to realize that we live in a world where sometimes you just gotta do things because you know they're right.

I think what I resent the most is that all of us, especially the women who worked with him, were a part of his rehabilitation (at least image-wise) without us ever getting to choose if that was something we wanted to participate in. He didn't let us or his audience make a choice. How ironic.

When fascists win, centrists get to feel good about themselves because they are kinder and more tolerant than those people. When progressives win, centrists find themselves cruel and narrow minded by comparison, and can't bear that feeling.

"Here's one of the beepers I used to commit mass war crimes. Also, Hasan Piker is a little bitch. It is a problem for Hasan Piker that I, a person with an explosive beeper used to kill children in my hand, do not like him."

If I'm reading this news report correctly, today Hasan Piker was denounced in a speech before the UN General Assembly

You can tell they're serious educators by the way they leave the state the second they don't get exactly what they want.

Very much looking forward to the new rash of videos of people struggling for days to beat that new impossible Soulsborne-style super boss and it's like, a twisted version or Dorothy's Aunt Em.

Not even into Digimon like that, but I do appreciate that I believe him when he says this. Like, someone saying Digimon is their favorite shit is at least being sincere.

Look the "spreadsheet people" thing is very simple. Imagine a self-righteous religious person whose response to your very real hardship is "Well, God has a plan." Now imagine instead of the Bible they're citing employment statistics, median household income, and consumer confidence.

Just hitting the fast forward button here on your logic: no, it's actually not a breech of the social contract or whatever to not want to see ads on the internet. It's actually perfectly normal to not want to be advertised to wherever you go.

Genital inspections are an indignity, not a mortal threat. Also, do you really think trans kids would experience LESS persecution & vilification by playing on a sports team that doesn't match their external appearance? I support their right to play on the team that matches their gender, but they're
