Do you know how annoying it is that anytime I am funny or clever on the internet, AI can scrape it? Excuse me, I use less water and this humor is locally sourced trauma-denial, hell sometimes it's even bespoke.

I can see the faces of people thousands of miles away and talk to them in real time. Parents on business trips can still say goodnight to their kids.

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

that’s a genuinely beautiful way to put it

M. Night Shyamalan's YouTube channel (which is something he has now) came out of nowhere with this great line.

We already have flying cars. They're called helicopters. They're really expensive and there are good reasons you have to have a pilot license and work with air traffic control to fly them. Putting jets on a sedan is not going to result in a better vehicle or transportation experience in any way.

Kara is a fantastic author, a truly kind person, and a pleasure to communicate with. I cannot recommend her enough.

Did anyone else take way too long to figure out that the two old guys on that one Twenty One Pilots album was not an official photo of the band members? I was really pleased that the senior citizens had gotten so popular as musicians.

Me to my baby gay ducklings, my friends, the people I have adopted because their parents are shit or they just needed another mom: Are you drinking enough water? Are you getting enough sleep? Are you talking nicely about yourself? I love you so much you're doing so great Me to me: water? Who is she

My favorite bit right now is "______ is just a scam for Big ________ to sell more _______s." E1: Gender is just a scam by Big Toilet to sell more bathrooms. E2: The moon is just a scam by Big Astrology to sell more horoscopes. Please create some/share your favorites!

weird dreams last night including meeting @maggiestiefvater.bsky.social in a Barnes and Noble in a truly enormous mall. She was an employee because she couldn't write books after "the incident". I was trying to convince her that she could and we needed more of her books as she stared at me, haunted

Me: a librarian with storytime training and experience as well as a storytelling class under my belt, literally professionally read to children My spouse: just a guy Offspring: "Dada read it" The nerve.

On one hand, yes this will be interesting. On the other hand, If you've EVER seen an early 2000s film where a diary becomes public, we're about to get some hot takes on the Popular Kids and read some bad poetry about Fauci's crush.

Considering how badly Covid was mishandled, they're probably going to regret the decision to make Fauci's personal diary and journal public. We're going to see how it was handled from the insider, from Fauci's point of view... based on you know...science.

Was explaining to yet another friend why I call RFK Jr "Wormy Bob" and my theory that the brain worm is alive and piloting that politician like a Yeerk (Animorphs tried to warn us) and this man legitimately said to me, "He's done so many terrible things, I forgot about the worm thing." FORGOT???

Someone let ICE watch "The Sound of Music" and their only takeaway was "clearly the nuns are guilty" which is a wild take.

So the people mad about 'scrying' can easily find a solution to their vocabulary problem but it will lead them to a greater fear...an even bigger book with a lot of words they don't know in it. If they get past that to the definitions portion, they may one day accept The Dictionary.

Informed my spouse first thing this morning that we're only referring to RFK Jr as "Wormy Bob" from now on so this is my Father's Day gift to the world. (You're welcome)

Me to my toddler: yes we're all taking a little rest. All the kids. All the grown ups. You're not missing anything. We're all resting Toddler: 🤔 Me: time for everyone to rest Toddler: (implied) disrespectfully, mother, I'm pretty sure that's bull

I saw an autistic comedian doing a bit about how it took her years to realize she was being bullied in middle school and as an autistic girl who was heavily bullied, my first thought was "damn those weren't even good bullies. Mine made sure I KNEW like true professionals" Which is probably fucked up

To be clear, this is a bit. I am doing a bit. It is based on a comedy bit I watched and my own experiences with bullying but I'm not trying to say that someone's experience was lesser. This is silly goose territory please mind the waterfowl.

I've had some folks recommend Scrivener and I recently got an ad for Dabble, a Scrivener-like cloud based software. Can y'all chime in with thoughts on either tool? Trying to decide which to try out #writer #amwriting #writersky #scrivener #dabble #justwriterthings

Can't prove this but maybe the reason for Attenborough's longevity is that whenever Paddington arrives to shepherd his soul on, he fends him off with his powers of nature narration. "The perplexed ursine psychopomp withdraws, his hunt unsuccessful. Perhaps a 1970s bass player will make easier prey."

I don't have D&D on Saturday so naturally I've ignored my DM responsibilities to write the next dungeon and instead blissfully ignored that it will take me at least a day to write plot, build NPCs, make or get a map, and get some riddles and puzzles to mix things up. I will not learn from this.

I can't relate because I've never bought the good stuff so 🤷🤷🤷

“Aw, goddammit, my hair really does look softer and smoother,” said Suthers, who appeared visibly distraught as she ran a hand through her hair to confirm that the $49.99 bottle of meadowfoam-infused shampoo had, indeed, left her hair neither dried-out nor greasy.

On the one hand, I absolutely would be dead without my SSRI, but on the other hand, we all know I’m not the kind of person this administration wants around
