Probably a different kind of trans than you're thinking.
Use whatever pronoun seems right in the moment.

There's a constant low-level discussion on English-language bluesky about the electoral consequences of transphobic rhetoric from left-liberals but I think it's honestly worse than "they might not vote for you", it's more like, you're cutting yourself off from political labor and talent.
Trans people have consistently been a disproportionately large part of the Democratic Party's volunteer corps.
You're sacrificing canvassers, the most impactful thing a campaign can do, for a statistically insignificant number of poached Republican votes.
It is in a lot of ways just an abdication of responsibility, of taking a role in forming the political environment. It's the fundamental problem of shallow popularism; you assume you're just a powerless actor reacting to the "preferences" of the "median voter", which is a loser's way of thinking.
Because it really is the behavior of people who don't even perceive the *existence* of a movement, who treat politics like it's just their little personal little league game to win or lose. It's wrecker shit, fundamentally. Insecure, pathetic behavior.
What these politicians are doing when they put out dumb transphobic ads or say dumb transphobic things on stage is that they're weakening the movement either out of personal bigotry or out of doing incorrect electoral math, and they really should get shit for it.

And so I have to ask, where would we be in some parallel world where the socialism and liberty party, or the worker's party, had this particular brain worm and worried about the ~*~optics~*~ of campaigning with her, of letting her be the incredibly effective leader that she is?
Erika was incredibly important to the whole campaign and just in general, both as an organizer and in Congress all year working to push forward the recently-passed amendment that will end the practice of making people work more than 40hrs/5 days a week.
the contrast between seeing US democrats fall over themselves to embrace idiot transphobia all year and tonight seeing footage of the president embracing my (trans) congresswoman, Erika Hilton, at the election night party
It is also, obviously, ethically grotesque, just a fucking evil thing to do, which is perhaps something we ought to start caring about with regards to elected officials.
It is, ultimately, damaging your ability to accomplish things long term or to win elections long term because you assume that you can't change the framing of the conversation even though changing the framing is a tool that's right there for you to grasp. It's incompetence. Malpractice.

MAGA is racist: Justified outrage
MAGA is corrupt: Justified outrage
MAGA is tacky: Outrage that seems superficial but I'll take it
MAGA is transphobic with the help of 3 specific Democrats: "Hold on now, we have to have nuance"

I dreamt that the Team Rocket guy I was fighting punched me in the stomach so hard that it made my stove top hat pop off my head. I turned to Pikachu and shouted, “Pikachu, use Lightning Fuck!” Pikachu then screamed PIKKAAAA! (which is Pikachu speak for Lightning Fuck).
Then I woke up.
Trump is BIG MAD about Obama saying the White House now looks like Saddam opened a Cheesecake Factory: "He's not a smart guy. He's not smart at all ... for you to say it's a Cheesecake Factory, that just shows why you were a lousy president"
So I'm coming to conclusion that WoLF is like a CULT cult and not just a cult of personality.
Every person I've encountered who attests to positive connections with the group is like...I don't even know what words to use.
One insists that feminism is when you don't remove the male guards who keep raping inmates of women's prisons because the reason they're criminals is a lack of good male role models.
One claims antifa sprayed poison on all 40 of the women at their 11 woman protest and PPB deleted their group chats.
I never thought to check and most people probably wouldn't have thought to take not of it...
Is Germaine Greer on the Epstein list?
She seems like she would have gotten along well with Ghislaine.
I'm about to start shoving this in the face of all the condescending "but the opponent is worse" people and asking them if this would be acceptable from a Democrat if their opponent said a slur.
There is a line where a lesser evil is still too evil, they just don't want to admit it.
RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."
My general explanation for this tendency is a mix of unwillingness to criticize Democrats because of a tendency to view blame as assigning Ontological Evil status, an unwillingness due to "just feels wrong," and an unwillingness due to fear of getting demonized by their fellow moral-panickers.
...Assumption #4 has been driving me batshit, yet no one seems to realize it: if you're worried trans ppl might potentially harm your Dem candidate's chances, then YOUR CANDIDATE MADE A BAD DECISION! so why not join us in trying to get them to reverse position? juliaserano.medium.com/on-democrats...
I a just old enough to remember what the aftermath of 9/11 was like, and even then a member of the Bush administration saying something this Islamophobic would have been unthinkable. Sure they still thought these things but getting rid of the norms that kept them from saying it has been awful.
RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."
There can never be another "water under the bridge" administration ever again, and part of that is going to involve shaming everyone on board with this one - voters included - as the disgusting pig racists they are
RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."
Used to be people like David Duke couldn't eat at restaurants because so many people would be yelling at him for being racist that the owners had to ask him to leave if they hadn't already banned him themselves.
Let's do that again. I think it's worth a try.

Flávio Bolsonaro had his passport confiscated by the Brazilian fed police as his brother Eduardo told him to flee to the US.
He is tied to paramilitary gangs, is being investigated & lost his legislative immunity when he left the Senate to run for president.

We’ve officially entered post-wokeism. Not utilizing tech billionaires’ earth-killing plagiarism machine is privileged, elitist, and dare I say, maybe even ableist(?) Please adjust your behavior accordingly.
I don't blame the Three Cueing System for people skimming sentences and inventing their own idea of what it says, because
A) The problem has been just as bad as now since long before it became a common method
B) If someone were actually using the method, they wouldn't have this problem.
Now that second one is slightly a No True Scotsman because a lot of people do use it incorrectly, but it's still a method for identifying an unknown word, not a method for understanding a sentence.
It's just a formalized version of the classic "treat it like fill in the blank" context cues method.
50501 strongly condemns the transphobic policy positions espoused in Josh Turek’s campaign ad. We’re calling on @joshturek4iowa.bsky.social to stand with the trans community & attack the real threat to the safety of women & girls: the Trump administration’s cover-up of the Epstein trafficking ring.
This is what I was talking about Friday.
Elon has near-single-handedly entangled anti-trans culture war with Epstein and expensive diesel with his flood of empty attack ads.
Standing for trans people is now part of the brand of anyone who seriously wants to drive out the corrupt pedophile rapists.

Something I spoke about before was how transphobia is often an expression of misogyny, it gives people who hate women an outlet and sets trans women up as a class of women it's socially okay to be misogynistic towards, while also providing an ideological justification for that misogyny.
A new survey of 1,000 American adults found that the strongest supporters of transgender sports bans are not the people who admire women most: they are the people who hold the most hostile views about women.
